Only from a firm foundation can we grow into our fullest potential. Join me on this weekend of connecting more deeply with the earth and yourself. Through yoga, meditation, filling our lungs with fresh oxygen, luscious food, rest, and connection with others, we will begin to say goodbye to Summer and cultivate new habits to bring forth into the coming season.
This retreat idea came to me when I was in the jungles of Costa Rica. As I thought to myself, “I traveled here to heal.. To slow down and notice what rises within me,” I realized I wanted to create a safe space for others to also re-connect to their wholeness without having to venture across the world. Nature is always abundantly around us; Sometimes we just need to slow down and tune in.
When we do come into presence, we can recognize how we’re truly feeling. Rather than resisting feeling what has been sitting within us, let us begin to trust that each emotion can teach us a lesson. We can’t experience elation without also allowing ourselves to feel sadness.
Invest in yourself to begin releasing what no longer serves you and moving in ways that reflect the innate goodness of your heart.
The Inn at Shaker Mills was built as a Shaker Grist Mill in 1824, and it has been transformed with post & beam construction, original stone walls, and wooden plank floors. It is nestled into a wooded valley next to a cascading waterfall. The inn includes seasonal flower beds, indoor and outdoor seating areas, comfortable couches and high quality wifi. Wildlife includes beavers and herons.
Guests have access to numerous outdoor seating areas, a pond, stream, and waterfalls from spring through autumn.
The Inn is located in Canaan, NY, which is close to the Shaker Wetlands (the first place in the United States where herbs were used for healing), the Berkshire Mountains, and natural wonders and cultural attractions of the Hudson River Valley and Southern Vermont.
*If you are looking for luxury, I wouldn't recommend this trip. The Inn is nearly 2 centuries old and is a place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of modern society.
