After a traditional Catalan breakfast we set off to explore the delights of Emporda - visiting some fairytale Catalan medieval villages, where you feel like you have stepped back in time. A perfect stop for lunch and then our objective to reach our beautiful country masia hotel, where your luggage will be waiting in your room.

Today we celebrate Catalan wine in the Emporda wine region, riding through roman vineyards and olive groves before stopping at a family run winery for lunch and a wine testing tour. Heading back to the nearby hotel to unwind in its glorious gardens. 

Today a rest from the bike to explore some Catalan gems further a field, to offer you another dimension to this Catalan diverse landscape, Including a visit to the lesser well known region of upper Emporda. Here we will visit a small family olive farm run by an inspirational couple who has won Gold medals in NY, Paris London and Tokyo for their delicious olive oil.

No visit to this region would be complete without seeing the rugged beauty of the Costa Brava coastline. An inspiration for many artists - including Salvador Dali, where the coast features in so many of his surreal masterpieces. And of course - fish and seafood would need to be featured on today’s menu!

Another chapter in our journey must include the mountains. A ride through pine scented forests had to feature on this classic mediterranean adventure. We ride through the Gavarres mountains which surround Girona - a chance to see a different landscape and sample some rustic country home cooked food.

Following our final Catalan breakfast - an optional easy spin on the bike or an opportunity to relax in and around the country hotel. After a farewell Catalan feast, the final ‘salutes’ and coffees, we provide return transfer to Barcelona airport
