Mindo is a famous bird watching hotspot located in the magical cloud forest of Ecuador. You will be picked up from your hotel in Quito and drive around two hours. During your ride you will be surprised by the vegetational change from highlands into the lush green Ecuadorian cloud forest. Mindo is a small village located in the middle of a valley, and is famous for its waterfalls, breath taking birdwatching spots, and some adventurous river sports. In Mindo your driver will take you to the waterfalls and accompany you during this memorable hike. Afterwards you will have time to optionally do other activities, such as: visit a butterfly garden (entrance fee not included), go birdwatching, or do a chocolate tour (entrance fee not included).
On the way back to Quito we will stop for lunch (not included – to be paid locally) and continue then to visit the famous equatorial line. We will stop at the experimental museum Inti Ñan (entrance fee not included), where a museum guide will tell you all about the history of the different tribes and ethnicities of Ecuador and their relationships with the middle of the earth. Later, you will be taken to the actual equatorial line where you will be exposed to a variety of experiments that proof that you are standing in the middle of the world.
At the end of the afternoon you will return to your hotel in Quito.
