About this trip

Even though the Quilotoa crater lake will be the destination of your day tour today, the ride there with its beautiful far sight of the Andean mountains and its surrounding daily life on the side of the road are already worth the drive. After being picked up from your hotel the road will take you south over the famous Andean avenue of volcanoes. On a clear day you will be able to see Cotopaxi, both Ilinizas and hopefully even the snow-capped tops of Tungurahua and Chimborazo volcanos! On our way to Quilotoa we will stop at a local market, depending on the day of the week, to witness the daily trade of fruits and vegetables. The Quilotoa crater lake has an amazing view, with an everchanging colour of its water depending on the sun and the clouds, changing from turquoise to green to dark blue. You can hike down to the lake and even kayak on its waters (not included) but remember that you must walk up again! After lunch (excluded) we will head back towards Quito.

Andres is an exceptional guide who is very friendly, knowledgeable and his English is perfect! We had a great time with him in the surroundings of Cuenca.

It was a very good and nice tour. The falls are so impressive and you get very close. Gustavo was a very friendly, relaxed guide who gave us a lot of attention and information. The boattrip was amazing, beautiful and spectaculair! We certainly wouldn't want to have missed this. The jungle tour with the 4 wheel drive however was not what we expected. It was not more then a bus drive in an open bus to get to the boat. We did not get a chance to see the surroundings or any anima at all (we Nederland made a stop).
