About this trip

Lobos Island is a small flat islet, named this way for being home to many sea lions, which play on the beaches and rest on the rocks and their brown fur stands out on the white sand. In addition, it is the ideal place to observe nesting frigate birds and blue footed boobies. It has a protected channel where you can do snorkeling with sea lions and sea turtles.

You will go in a small boat for about 25 minutes to Lobos Island. From the boat you can watch its wildlife before disembarking on the island. During the guided tour on land you can see frigate birds, blue footed boobies and sea lions that live there. Afterwards you will have time to snorkel, you can swim with the playful sea lions and observe rays and turtles. After this visit you will continue to Playa Ochoa (or similar). This white coral beach offers the opportunity to walk around and relax or bathe in the shallow waters before returning to Baquerizo Moreno Port. You will have a lunch onboard. The itinerary might be inversed due to National Park regulations.

NOTE: The area on Isla Lobos is volcanic rock and unequal. Although not extremely difficult, stability and good shoes are a must. The walk takes around 1 hour.

Our guide, Heimi, was very friendly and knowledgeable, and he provided excellent customer service. He was assisted by Carlos, who also did a great job. The trip was enjoyable, but we don't feel that it was worth $370 for two people. It a mere 45-minute walk in the woods, where we saw only a few monkeys, followed by a reasonably short boat ride, where we saw a number of birds but not that many. Nonetheless, our tour guides were delightful and did their jobs well.

We had a great outdoor day on the boat to discover different areas around San Cristobal. The boat crew and the guide were very professional, helpful and knowledgeable in every aspect! I definitely recommend this tour if you’re traveling to Galapagos archipelago.

The gentleman who came to our room to take out samples for our test was nice and professional. Dont know who dropped the ball on our test results but took multiple calls to finally get our copies of results.
