Bartolome Island

The Day Trip to Bartolome leaves at 6:00 - 7:00 AM from Puerto Ayora and

includes lunch. You are transferred across the island of Santa Cruz to

Ithabaca Channel between Santa Cruz and Baltra. From there you take the

yacht across to Bartolome, which is a small island right next to

Santiago. There is a walk up to the top of Bartolome for a picture

postcard view

(the most photographed in the islands) through a moonscape of volcanic

craters. The famous Pinnacle Rock is where you will see the Galapagos

and there is a nice swimming / snorkeling beach. You will be back in

Puerto Ayora around 5:00 or 5:30 PM.

Santa Fe Island

For the Day Trip to Santa Fe you will need to be at the main dock in

Puerto Ayora by 7:30 and 8:00 AM where you will be picked up for

the tour.(It is best to be 10 or 15 minutes early). The island of Santa

Fe is about 18 miles away from Puerto Ayora. Between around 10:00 AM

and 2:00

PM youwill be doing a land visit, having lunch and snorkeling. For the

land visit you will have a wet landing on the beach (take off your shoes

roll up your trousers), followed by a walk. There are lots of sea lions

and you will

be seeing Colophus pallidus, which is the light colored land iguana

which is endemic

to the island of Santa Fe. You will be seeing Galapagos Doves and

possibly a Galapagos Hawk. There are also giant prickly pear cacti and

the endemic Rice Rat is also found on this island. The snorkeling is

good, with sea lions, lots of fish and coral heads. You will be back in

Puerto Ayora between 4:00 and 4:30 PM

Your Organizer

Our company’s main aim is to give our passengers the best possible trip and fulfill their highest expectations and dreams. A trip to the Galapagos is usually a once in a lifetime event and most people have been thinking, planning about it and saving for years. This means that your precious time in the islands should not be wasted. Moonrise Travel’s advertising up until now has all been word of mouth from satisfied travelers who have been to the islands and told their friends about us. Most of the guide books to the islands mention us.
