Itinerary

Day Trip
Rio Claro Reserve

For those that want a bit of adventure we have planned for you to participate in two of the reserves most popular activities. So for the first activity that we have planned for you we will head off for about a forty minute walk along one of the reserves trails

winding through the natural habitat until we come to the cave entrance. From here we will make our way through the inside of the rock to live an extraordinary

experience.

Winding ourselves through a naturally carved out cave in pitch black conditions and water running throughout. We will work our way through using your torches as the only light sources! You will get to hear the strange sounds of the mysterious Oil Birds or Guacharos (Steatornis Caripensis), as we pass through their nesting grounds. We will exit the cave onto the main river.

For our second activity of the day we will go rafting through the reserve. We will get to enjoy the exuberant tropical rainforest that covers the canyon and get to appreciate the biodiversity of the region. The journey culminates at an imposing vaulted limestone ceiling that is testimony to the transformative powers of the river’s water cutting into the bedrock. Water droplets falling from gigantic stalactites that hang from a towering limestone cliff offer a breathtaking spectacle to the viewer. The level of this experience will vary greatly on the water levels

We noticed that travellers were very familiar with such possibilities of a city break to Medellin or Bogota or stay in the coffee triangle, but the incredible opportunities for canoeing the rivers and lakes and the options for fishing in some magnificent and remote locations, or to explore some of the breathtaking scenery on horse back or by foot were comparatively little-known or thought as too dangerous or difficult. We came back with a plan to share some of these incredible journeys and now we offer tours to some of these places and with time we shall offer even more places to be amazed by. We are well versed in our fields with over 3 decades of canoeing and outdoor pursuits experience in remote and hard to reach areas and led many expeditions within the British military and student groups. We strive to impress and leave you in total amazement and to make you want to return again and again. As an English speaking company we offer tours in English so you do not have to speak Spanish
