Barichara is considered one of the most beautiful towns in Santander and Colombia. The town is located on the edge of the Suaréz River canyon. This place has a history of more than 300 years. It is characterized by having a colonial architecture, with stones as its main building material and preserving the style of construction with rammed earth and / or bahareque. The houses are low with whitewashed walls, green painted balconies and narrow cobbled streets. One of its main attractions is the Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción in sandstone located in the town square.
