Weather is mild in October - day average is in upper 60-65F and night average is in mid 40F or can be close to freezing. While cold or hot weather, high winds and rain is possible it is not likely because rain is a rare event in the desert. Best way to be prepared is to wear layers and be ready to put an extra on or take something off.
Every day we will start hiking in the early mornings, because days are short and sunset is around 4.30 pm. So, be ready to layer up.

- Face covering (needed on a flight and indoor public places, visitor centers etc)

- Ear plugs, if you are a sensitive sleeper

- Gaiters (to protect your pants and shoes from dust) - very suggested

Outfit for hiking:

- Good sturdy high-ankled hiking boots, well-worn before the trip  (!) Please don’t bring brand new boots, try them a few times on hiking trails before the trip, to avoid painful blisters while on a trip

- Comfortable tennis shoes (it's good to have a change of shoes for off-trail activities)

- Hiking pants  (shorts or yoga pants are not recommended – to prevent sunburns)

- Long-sleeved loose shirt (for sun protection)

- Sunhat

As we will leave hotel early every morning we would suggest buying simple meals such as yogurt, bagels, cream-cheese, may be eggs (boil them beforehand), tea/coffee (or take it from home).

Take your own snack for hiking trails.  We also make a stop at the local restaurants or breweries if time and itinerary logistics allows.

We make an advanced group table reservations in the restaurants and breweries according to our own dining experience in this area.

Drinking water

The water at Tecopa Delights Hot-springs Resort is mineral. PLEASE DON'T DRINK TAP WATER. However you can use tap water for brushing your teeth.

Drinking water is not provided or sold at resort. We should bring our own drinking water for our personal use and for hiking days as well.  We suggest at least 2 gallons per person for entire trip. You should stay hydrated in desert. If you run out of drinking water, no worries. We can make a stop at gas station on the way anytime.

It was an amazing trip; actually 3 trips in one (Ecuador highlands, Amazon rainforest, Galapagos islands). Perfect organization throughput: transportation, local guides, high-end lodging and restaurants. Karina stayed in close contact throughout the trip and made sure here were no hiccups. Thank you a ton, Karina!

Amazing trip, we’ve seen volcanoes and waterfalls, amazing animals, ate delicious food and got to know the culture of this great country. Trip logistics was impeccably organized. We felt very supported along the way as well. Karina is the best in industry! Highly recommend!

The best part of any trip is to meet new people and get to know everyone in a group. You can't find a better place to do this then gorgeous Hawaii. The food was diverse and delicious, abundance of fruit will surprise anyone. Accomodations were comfortable and spacious. I can't wait for the next adventure to meet new and old friends

One of the best trips I've done! I am mainly either a solo traveler or prefer to go with my family But 4 days hiking trip to Montana Glacier NP has changed my preferences :) Thank you very much, it's been a pleasure and FUN Met so many interesting intelligent people, would highly recommend if you enjoy active vacations

I traveled with Karina to Patagonia in 2020 and it was awesome! Perfect planning & organization throughout the trip, including dealing with the unexpected (e.g. lost luggage). I really liked other folks in the group and made several new friends in this trip. I highly recommend Karina's trips to casual and semi-serious hikers, and plan to be a return customer myself.
