Terms and Conditions  (Please Read In Full):

*Accommodations are based on single occupancy due to COVID-19. Rooms will feature one large bed. However, travelers who book together can request a shared space. Shared room choices cannot be changed after booking. 

*Flights are not included. However, we can help you find the best flight options when you purchase the 'flight tracker' add-on. Please plan to arrive in Accra by 4 PM on December 27, 2023. 

* On Buoyant trips, acts of nature, or other unforeseen interruptions, please remember that the itinerary schedule may change, but we will always find suitable replacements. 

* Travel Insurance is NOT included but is required to attend this trip. By booking this trip, you agree that Buoyant is not responsible for any injuries, lost or stolen property, canceled or missed flights, or death. You agree not to sue or hold Buoyant accountable for any previously mentioned.  

* Buoyant will not provide refunds or trip credits if you opt out of any scheduled itinerary activities. 

* You must be willing to provide us with a copy of the following by the requested deadline of November 30, 2023: yellow fever card, valid passport, valid Ghana visa, and emergency contact information.

* The trip activities, tours, and accommodations advertised by Buoyant are pre-planned and advertised as intended. Occasionally, we may need to make changes and reserve the right to do so at any time. We will notify travelers of any changes. 

* Ghana is not a Western country. They have a stable infrastructure and booming tourism industry, but things will operate differently than in a country like the US or UK. Please be flexible and open-minded in the case of delays or changes. 

* We will cross-check everything to ensure the smoothest trip possible. However, there are potential hiccups (local traffic, delayed customer service, tardy events, etc.). If you have patience, this trip will be enjoyable, and we would love for you to join us for a different experience. 

Photography 

You consent to Buoyant using images of you taken during the trip for advertising and promotional purposes in any way we choose. By booking this trip, you grant Buoyant Travel a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable license to use all images for promotional and commercial purposes.

Cancellation Policy

You agree to our cancellation policy by booking this trip, as described below. 

Cancellation By Buoyant: 

Any traveler who books our December 2023 Ghana experience will be notified about cancellations by November 3, 2023. 

If Buoyant cancels this trip, all registered attendees will receive a full refund of any trip payments made until Buoyant's point of trip cancellation. However, the deposit remains non-refundable as it is an administrative fee for our small team. 

Cancellation By Guest:

Buoyant will not provide any refunds for this trip. Travelers should contact their travel insurance provider to file a claim if they can no longer attend the trip. If you need to cancel, please email us. Trip cancellation requests must be received in writing at   hello@buoyanttravel.com. We must be notified in writing about any cancellations by November 3, 2023, at 6 PM ET. 

COVID-19 Note: Although as of March 28, 2022, Ghana no longer requires COVID-19 testing to enter, all travelers must be vaccinated. To ensure everyone's safety, we ask that you self-test and self-isolate as much as possible within 14 days before arriving in Ghana. 

We recommend coming to Ghana with a working phone. Getting around the city with access to a working telephone ( i.e., no Uber or Bolt) will be more accessible. 

Please get in touch with your cell phone service provider before the trip to purchase an international data plan (T-Mobile is the best US provider for this) or to get your phone unlocked so you can buy a local sim card when you arrive in Ghana. Akwaaba (welcome) to Ghana! We will pick you up from Kotoka International Airport and whisk you away to our cozy boutique accommodations in the Osu neighborhood of Accra.

At dinner, you will get your first taste of Ghana with authentic local dishes at one of Accra’s well-loved restaurants--this is the perfect time to connect with the other travelers you’ll be exploring with over the next week.

 Today we will explore the best of Accra. Our city tour will take us to famous landmarks like the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial, Independence Square, and the W.E.B DuBois Center. We will learn the history of this beautiful country and its relationship with famous Pan- Africanists.

Ever wanted to swag surf with ya' people on the continent? Yeah, it's as lit as it sounds. 

We'll celebrate our homecoming at Ghana's best African music festival, AfroFuture. It's like Coachella, only Blacker and better.

The festival features music, food (Jollof anyone?), and art installations. Afrochella celebrates African culture and is the perfect place to celebrate your return home. 

We've got good news - VIP AfroFuture tickets are included in your trip price because we know you're here for a good time, a short time.

It's time for some relaxing and thrilling adventures today. 

We're heading outside Accra to the Eastern Region to experience some of the most scenic parts of Ghana. On the list? A beautiful waterfall, off-road quad biking, and lunch at a locally-loved resort.

 You probably already know that Ghana in December is lit, but tonight will prove it. 

During the day, join us on a morning stroll through Makola Market. We will end our visit at one of our favorite boutiques in Accra, The Shop, where you can enjoy a light lunch. 

We'll head out for a night on the town tonight to celebrate the beautiful new year ahead.

Today is an entirely free day to explore Ghana! We recommend hitting up the markets, popping into a local chop bar, doing a batik-making workshop, or checking out a rooftop bar.

This journey marks our official return home, where they said we’d never return. We’ll celebrate with a transformative visit to Cape Coast Castle, Elmina Castle, and Kakum National Park.

At Kakum, we’ll walk the famous treetop canopies, and at the ‘castle,’ we will follow the same path as our ancestors did during their last moments on the coast of West Africa before walking through the ‘Door Of No Return.’ 

This part of the trip will be powerful and emotional for many. Our expert guide will show us around the ‘castles,’ sharing important stories of our ancestral past. After the tour, we’ll have time to reflect with an oceanside lunch.

Today we’re heading to the Volta region to turn up together one last time! Our send-off boat party will be one for the books. Picture us cruising along the Volta with music, drinks, and good food.

We’ll also do an optional light hike at Shai Hills Nature Reserve.
