Overall the trip was wonderful. Our tour guide, Marian, was excellent and worked with the group to accommodate suggested changes with grace and respect. Matt and Leslie were great representatives for the Extension. Having their expertise enhanced the experience. They were a great addition to our group. The hotels were lovely and the meals were mostly excellent. I like that we stayed more than 1 night at each hotel. Transportation was great and our first driver, Eric, had a great personality and seemed to enjoy his job and interacting with us. I would suggest that the Zanse schans and Plantopia be removed from the tour. While it is nice to see examples of Dutch culture such as the palace and church, tourist traps should be avoided. I would also suggest that dinner be schedule for 6 pm especially when it is at a restaurant outside of the hotel.

Fantastic guide and driver. Very good group. I hate your review process! Plane terrible!!! Too much trouble to get in to this site. Don't like having to make an account. If all we had to go on for this trip was your review process, we wouldn't have gone!

We thoroughly enjoyed our garden tour in Costa Rica. Our guide and group leaders made us feel well cared for and well fed as well! Great scenery and lots of knowledge shared, we’d highly recommend this trip.

Ah, Costa Rica! The weather was great (only one misty day and none of our days were scorchers), the food was good and surely plentiful! I just loved the coffee (café con leche) at every meal, no matter where it was. All of the sites we visited were interesting and I enjoyed learning more about the processing of sugar cane into brown sugar, coffee production and also spices and how they look "au naturale" in their native environment. Our tour guide (Margherita) was very knowledgeable and readily shared information. And our driver, Alex! What a guy! He got us up-and-down the mountains as well as through San Jose traffic with great skill. Both of these folks were awesome and made our trip a real win! Hotel Bougainvillea was my favorite.... not too American; not too foreign. Hotel San Bada was also great, with very much a resort atmosphere. There was an issue with the hot water at Hotel Villa Florencia (Solar powered water heating system. What!?) but they "made it right" for me by moving me to another building (thanks to Margherita). And not to forget our wonderful tour "chaperones", Caroline & Amanda! They helped us to keep on-track (not easy when you're busy doing "stuff" every day and several evenings!), shared their knowledge of plants & travel and just made everything run smoothly. Great work, ladies! Fewer hotel changes and less back-and-forth driving on the same roads would have been appreciated. I would have liked to stay in a hotel, see everything of interest in that area and then move to another area and hotel to enjoy what's there. Maybe next time!

I had a great experience learning from Margharita (tour guide) as she was an expert in the plant and bird/animal biological explanations, as well as local/native history and folklore. My tour group hit "paydirt" with her as we were master gardeners and she was an encyclopedia of information about everything!!! Hotel Bougainvillea was fantastic, as was Hotel San Bada. I don't recommend Hotel Villa Florencia - no hot water, limited WIFI and internet, no in room phone or fire alarm or sprinklers and only one set of towels for 2 people in the room and food was nothing special.
