What's the average age?

Our trips are for ALL ages and everyone is welcome! We'd say the majority are 50+ but either way, we'll be a little travel family in no time.

Who are the trips for?

Come alone, bring a friend, drag your loved one, persuade your nan or force a reunion… everything goes! If you’ve got an open mind, a kind heart, a karaoke song at the ready and you love an adventure then this is for you.

Is volunteering hard work?

Xin Chao (Hello) Hanoi. This is it then, the starting point! We know that you'll be excited, nervous, apprehensive or all three… So to help ease you into life here in Vietnam, our experienced team of guides will collect you at the airport and transfer you to our first hotel. Relax, freshen up and meet your new travel family before we take you to one of our favorite spots for dinner. We may even stop off for a local beer or two on what’s known as… beer street. That should set you up well for this epic adventure.

We'll kick today off with an informative orientation so that you can get your bearings and find out about all the activities, rules of the road and what we have planned for you along the way. It’s time to head into town for a walking tour… we’ll visit local markets, the famous Hoan Kiem Lake, Bamboo street and take you down hidden alleyways that only the locals know their way around. Finish the day at a cultural water puppet show before we sit down for an included local buffet… YUM!

Goodbye to the hustle and bustle of the crazy capital and welcome to Vietnam's extraordinary Ha Long Bay. After jumping onboard our traditional junk boat, we'll cruise through the iconic emerald waters dotted with thousands of towering limestone cliffs. The afternoon will be spent kayaking, swimming and relaxing on the beach before the drinks get flowing for happy hour cocktails on the top deck for sunset… How does that sound?

This morning will be all about the Tai Chi if you're an early bird. After breakfast hop on some row boats to explore the fishing villages and learn how the locals live on the water. Before we head back to the mainland we’ll help the crew prepare lunch with a spring roll making demonstration… time to get your hands messy. That afternoon we'll make our way to Ninh Binh, check into our unique bamboo bungalows and relax by the pool before indulging in a home made dinner that’s not to be missed.

Did you know that the Hollywood blockbuster King Kong was filmed here? Well, you do now and for good reason! This place is simply stunning… So let's grab a bicycle and get lost (not literally) in Vietnam’s beautiful countryside and rice fields. If you’re up for an adventure then let’s hike to the top of Dragon Laying Viewpoint and take another journey by row boats to discover rivers through caves. Chu Chu… that’s right, it’s time for the overnight train!

Welcome to Hue, the old capital of Vietnam and your home for next 4 nights. After checking in, freshening up and having a good breakfast after the overnight train, we’ll show you the best of this incredible city before we get stuck into out volunteer project the next day. Take a ride in a 3 wheeled rickshaw, explore the famous Imperial Citadel, visit the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda and cruise back to your hotel for sunset by dragon boat.

Working alongside one of the top NGOs in Hue, your three days on project will have you rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty. Community development is something Way To Travel loves to support and such projects include: building toilets for families, building sustainable chicken farms and pens, and educating the community on how to provide food and a steady income for the future.

Making our way to the historic Hoi An today, we'll travel down the famous Hai Van Pass - a scenic, winding road with panoramic views. If the weather's kind to us, we'll stop at a secluded waterfall and a beautiful lagoon for lunch with a view. Arrive in our boutique hotel with a swimming pool only 5 minutes walk to the heart of Hoi An... the lantern town.

This is your day! The Hoi An old quarter is packed full of pretty yellow buildings, boutiques, tailor shops, and quaint little coffee shops for you to explore. We’ve got lots of options of things to do on your free day: Cycle down to An Bang beach, learn to make your own lantern or we can even arrange a trip to the world famous golden hand bridge in Da Nang. That evening we’ll all get together for a final group meal for those of you not joining us on the 5 Day Bolt On to the south.

Travelled with Way to Travel Vietnam on the February 17-day trip from North to South. From the day of booking to the day I got home was a fantastic experience. Jane and T always there for everyone. The trip is so well organized, and the accommodation was always the best. It's a great way to see Vietnam and with T's knowledge of the history of his country we were informed of every place we visited. The 3-day giving back project was the highlight, what our team did in those 3 days was outstanding and changed the life of the family forever. Also, the visit to the school was a highlight. This was an unbelievable tour. We traveled from Hanoi to Saigon in every mode of transportation possible, including an overnight sleeper train. Accommodations were comfortable & the food was varied & deliciously prepared. We even had several cooking classes. In the middle of the adventure we did a three day volunteer project, building a bathroom & chicken coop for a deserving family. The work was hard, but gratifying. No one was expected to do more than they were able, but everyone rallied & did their utmost to contribute. This was a great "give back" project that was streamlined & well-organised, giving every member of the group an opportunity to contribute in a meaningful fashion.. Our guide, "Mr. T" was kind, informative & very responsive to the questions & needs of everyone in the group. He was outstanding in every regard. This company is small & ran by some honest & upstanding people who do their best to serve the tour group & the community. There is personal hands-on attention to every detail. Kudos to both Mr. T & Jane Hanoi for their outstanding work. I highly recommend this tour. It is a wonderful introduction to the people & country of Vietnam.

I just returned from an amazing tour of Vietnam with Way to Travel. Every bit of this tour exceeded my expectations. We saw so many beautiful and important sites, we got to experience several different modes of transportation, including a beautiful overnight cruise to Ha Long Bay, an overnight train trip, a domestic flight, rickshaws, and more. Jane is the owner and creator of these tours, and our beloved, Tuan (Mr. T) is a phenomenal tour guide and becomes a friend to everyone. We learned about the heart of the Vietnamese people and their struggles and their incredible work ethic. We experienced three days of community service which made memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I'll be returning for another tour with Way to Travel in the future!

Wonderful trip with varied activities and a fantastic guide. Mr T is knowledgeable about his country, calm in a crisis and always willing to go the extra mile for his group. Markets, boat trips, bike rides, the overnight train, cooking lessons - this tour had it all. However the highlight was our three day community project assisting local builders to construct a bathroom and chicken coop for a local family. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone wanting not only to see the usual tourist sights of Vietnam but to see a little more of the country and it’s people.

If you are looking for an amazing Adventure plus give back tour Way to Travel is the Company to show you Vietnam. This was my second trip to Vietnam with a group and loved everything about it. My partner and I just returned from a Way To Travel 17 day trip that spanned rhe length of Vietnam. We found it filled with interesting and engaging activities, an outstanding guide and a group of simpatico fellow travelers, all of which enhanced our enjoyment. I was on the March 2024 Tour. it was an amazing experience. Mr. T was amazing! He had gone above and beyond in his expertise of his beautiful homeland of Vietnam. The Volunteer Project was alot of work but fun too. it made us feel so good in what we did to enhance the lives of a local village family. On this tour we saw many beautiful sights, fantastic food tour, a couple of performances, and made new friendships! I plan to return next year to spend more time at their beautiful beaches! Thank you so much to Jane and Mr. T! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
