A Day in The Magic Kingdom

Spend the day at  Magic Kingdom. Make sure you start early because there is so much to do.

Each of these areas is known for certain landmarks and attractions:

Main Street U.S.A

  • The iconic street of shops and restaurants
  • The Festival of Fantasy Parade

Adventureland

  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Jungle Cruise
  • Aloha Isle (Where you can get DOLE WHIP!)

Frontierland

  • Splash Mountain
  • The Country Bear Jamboree (My toddler’s favorite thing ever)

Liberty Square

  • The Hall of Presidents
  • The Haunted Mansion (My family’s all time favorite ride)

Tomorrowland

  • Space Mountain
  • The Carousel of Progress (A Disney Fan favorite and Walt classic)

Fantasyland

  • It’s a Small World
  • Flight of Peter Pan
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • All things Beauty and the Beast

Rides

Magic Kingdom is home to some of the most beloved and classic rides that Walt Disney himself created. You'll find It's a Small World and The Carousel of Progress. You'll also find popular roller coasters like Space Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Food

You'll find several delicious food options at this park. From classic Dole Whip to fine dining inside Cinderella's Castle, you'll find every type of dining experience.

It's important to note that Magic Kingdom was a dry park for a long time. And these days the only spots you'll find alcoholic drinks are at table service restaurants.

Transportation to Magic Kingdom

You have several options for getting to the Magic Kingdom

Parking

If you have a car, plan on parking at the ticket and transportation center to get to Magic Kingdom. The rate is $25 to park (unless you are a passholder or resort guest). From there you can use the ferry or monorail to get to the park. Keep this in mind as it can be time consuming.

Monorail

If you are staying at the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian, or the Contemporary Resort you can take the monorail from your hotel directly to the Magic Kingdom. You can also take the Monorail from the Ticket and Transportation center directly to this park.

Buses

There are bus stops to and from the resorts that stop in front of the Magic Kingdom.

Ferry

Ferries and boats can be taken from some resorts to the Magic Kingdom.

Minnie Vans

Using the Lyft app, you can call a Disney Cast Member to pick you up in a special van that looks like Minnie Mouse. All Minnie Vans have 2 car seats available and can take you anywhere on the Disney property. Price varies depending on how far you travel.

Bringing items into the Park

At Magic Kingdom, you CAN bring a bag or backpack on to every attraction. So feel free to pack a bag with your essentials for the day.

What can I bring in to the park?

You can bring:

  • Food
  • Small cooler
  • Milk/formula/other drinks
  • Small tripods or monopods (they have to fit into your backpack
  • Your own stroller

What items can’t I bring?

  • Wagons (You can’t bring anything that your child has to be pulled in)
  • Folding chairs
  • Selfie sticks
  • Weapons
  • Large coolers

Have fun!

The Day at Universal Studios

Universal Orlando and its’ cojoined twin, Islands of Adventure, are independent entities that can be visited separately or combined by purchasing a two park ticket.

They are both within walking distance of each other and are divided by Universal Orlando’s dining and retail complex ‘City Walk’.

Not only are Universal Studios Orlando and Islands of Adventure two amazingly great parks in their own right, each one has the added bonus of The Wizarding Word of Harry Potter.

Hogsmeade was the first ‘theme park within a theme park’ to open to much fanfare at Islands of Adventure in 2010 and has been such a massive success that expansion was inevitable. Diagon Alley opened it’s doors in 2014 much to the delight of Harry Potter fans all over the world.
