Ahh, dolce far niente - the sweetness of doing nothing. This is the spirit of our 2024 retreat where the focus returns to wellness at Oliveto, a luxury hilltop estate perched high above the Adriatic Sea and nestled amongst 400 olive trees and 9 acres of rolling hills in the untouched Le Marche region of Italy. 

You may want to spend your days walking through the olive groves, taking a trip to the nearby medieval village, or to the stunning Conero Beach, a 30 minute drive from the villa. Or perhaps you will fully emerge in pampering yourself at their spa, outfitted with a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, followed by a glass of local wine. All the delectable food Italy is known for might fuel you up for a game at the tennis court or breaking a sweat in the well-equipped gym before taking a dip in the infinity pool. For me, I think I’ll be spending the hours sitting in one of the outdoor lounge areas, watching the light play on the hillsides and water, trying to embody the Italian pastime of pleasant relaxation in carefree idleness.

All that said, this is a yoga retreat! Our daily practices, whether on the yoga deck or in the yoga studio, complete with a breathtaking view, will align with the Italian way of living la dolce vita - the sweet life - reminding us that we don’t need to earn rest and self care, rather they are necessary requirements for a full and healthy life. We will embrace nobile silence in the mornings, offer daily meditation and yoga while sprinkling in additional opportunities to nurture your spirit and soul.

This stunning estate has been designed for the ultimate in relaxation and wellness. Olivetto Estates offers a beautiful yoga studio with sweeping views of the sea, en-suite bedrooms all with private bath and twin beds (can be made into a king bed), a personal chef to prepare outstanding farm to table Italian meals, two pools heated if need be, a floodlight tennis court, a spa with a gym, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room and experiential shower. I didn't know what that was either, but look it up, Mamma Mia!

Set amongst rolling hills and ancient vineyards, the luxurious Villa Oliveto comes with 8 acres of the Oliveto estate filled with manicured gardens overlooking its very own 400-tree olive grove. There are two villas on the estate:

Olivio is the larger villa accommodating up to 12 guests. Offering unlimited space and exceptional views, the atmosphere is one of pared down elegance and modern luxury. Expansive views can be enjoyed from all levels of the villa and the floor to ceiling glass doors seamlessly bring together the outside and interior living space as one.

Furnished to the very highest standards, Villa Olivo is a restful retreat, perfectly equipped for special gatherings with family and friends. Throughout the villa you will find an inspiring mix of both contemporary and classic design features such as crystal pendant chandeliers and distressed bronze coffee tables. Natural stone floors sit harmoniously with restful colour schemes, reclaimed antique materials contrast beautifully with striking contemporary design details and unique pieces of art and sculpture give the villa a vibrant sense of modern elegance. 

Separate spacious living areas can be found on two floors providing a variety of relaxation and chill-out areas throughout the villa, perfect for larger groups or celebrations. The ground floor living area includes a super sleek contemporary fireplace and a large terrace with panoramic views of the sea, countryside and nearby medieval village. Villa Olivo’s numerous terraces and balconies mean you are never far from yet another breathtaking view of Le Marche.

Oliveto is the smaller villa accommodating up to 6 people, with a light airy and relaxing open plan living space.  Expansive views can be enjoyed from the large windows that wrap around the south facing side of the villa where you can lose yourself in the rolling hills and olive groves that extend to the sea.  

No matter which villa you choose, we have no doubt after this week in Le Marche region, you will arrive home refreshed, renewed and with a little piece of Italy forever in your heart.

TRIP INSURANCE

We STRONGLY STRONGLY recommend you purchase "cancel for any reason" trip insurance. Most policies will refund up to 75% of your travel costs, some will refund 100%. Do your homework and find a policy that works best for your situation. Make sure Covid cancellations are covered. For 2023, Forbes recommends Seven Corners, Track International and Cat70 among others. Most policies require the policy be purchase within 15-20 days of your initial trip deposit.
