Experience more than four centuries of golfing tradition at Royal Dornoch.
The world's most northerly championship course, it offers a timeless and quintessential links challenge - all set against the stunning backdrop of the windswept beach and the Dornoch Firth behind.
Two courses, one remarkable setting
Royal Dornoch offers two distinct 18-hole links courses, each shaped by its setting beside the Dornoch Firth.
Championship Course - The celebrated main event: a par-70, 6,799-yard links running beside the beach, with undulating fairways, raised greens, deep bunkers and the wind adding to the challenge.
Struie Course - A different test on the lower links: par 71 and 6,205 yards, with tighter fairways, smaller greens and the winding Dornoch Burn to negotiate. Its views stretch across the firth and back towards the town.
Explore Dornoch’s atmospheric cathedral town with an expert local guide, discovering Highland whisky, coastal wildlife and remarkable landmarks before the journey continues north.
The stretch of the journey that often leaves our guests lost for words.
Beyond Caithness’s wide coastal horizons, the landscape rises into mountains, open moorland and a coastline of secluded bays and white sand. Take your time, breathe it in and enjoy the silence. Here, the journey is every bit as memorable as the destination.
Durness: golf at the edge of the wild
Set above the turquoise waters and white sands of Balnakeil Bay, Durness Golf Club offers a round unlike any other on this journey. Britain’s most northwesterly mainland course is a nine-hole links played from two sets of tees for a full 18-hole experience. The unforgettable finish asks you to play across a sea inlet to a small green beyond.
Afterward Durness, explore the beaches, Smoo Cave and the remarkable landscape that brought you here.
Journey north along the east coast of the famous NC500, through seascapes that will stay with you long after you return home.
The road to Caithness tells a story of its own. Discover how the Highland Clearances shaped this coast, and meet the communities whose character and welcome define it today. Your bespoke journey follows your curiosity, whether that leads to archaeology, local food and drink or the wildlife along the shore. Relax and let us shape the day around you.
Reay: links golf on the edge of the Atlantic
Beside Sandside Bay, Reay is the most northerly 18-hole links course on the British mainland. James Braid helped shape its varied layout, where the wind calls for inventive shot-making and views of the Pentland Firth and North Atlantic accompany every hole. It’s an intimate, uncrowded round with a character all its own.
Nearby favourite destinations include the iconic John O'Groats, the Castle of Mey and the historic town of Thurso.
Your journey home is shaped around you.
Take the scenic route, explore a place that caught your eye, or enjoy one final round of golf. Courses such as Wick, Thurso or Brora can be added where tee times, your route and travel plans allow. With your local guide taking care of the details, the final day is yours to enjoy.
