About your trip

This is not the traditional tour to Tanzania and Zanzibar, where the entire trip is devoted to  Safaris. The East African Duo focuses on the culture, the terrain, and the arts. Your tour will start in Dar es Salaam, and later, you will move on to Arusha, where you will get a taste of the safari experience and visit a Maasai community.   Later, you will fly to Zanzibar to learn about  Stone Town and the historical artifacts that reflect the Atlantic Slave Trade.  This group is tailored for a small group with minimal space.

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

  •  Rise and shine! This morning, you will take a two-hour journey west from Arusha. During this brief ride, you will witness Tanzania's beautiful colors and character. There is a possibility that Maasai herdsmen will be driving flocks of goats to new pastures.
  • Your guide will be a storehouse of information and quite capable of answering questions you have yet to ask.
  • What’s next will be your game drive in Tarangire. The park has incredible diversity, massive baobab trees, and herds of elephants. Tarangire is huge. As you stand at the park gate and look south, it stretches as far as the eye can see. Known as the ‘Elephant Playground,’ this phenomenal park contains vast herds of these mighty mammals. It is also home to buffalo, lion, wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle.
  • This national park can rival the Serengeti for sheer animal densities. What might you see today? A solitary male lion stretched out beneath a tree, perhaps a trio of male cheetahs enjoying some lazy bonding time in the sun. Maybe some graceful Grant’s gazelle or zebra bounding.
  • You will arrive at your Camp - Tarangire Tortilis Camp.
  • Take in some Rest & Relaxation.

Tarangire National Park to Lake Manyara

  • Breakfast and check-out, and depart to Lake Manara
  • After checking into the Manyara Tortilis Camp, prepare for a great day of exploration.
  •  We have something in store for you: a game drive in wonderful Lake Manyara, with the Rift Valley escarpment and the lake itself as the wonderful, natural backdrops.
  •  Enjoy the tranquility as majestic pink flamingos wade elegantly, picking out a meal of algae from the shallow, alkaline waters. On land, Manyara’s terrain is compact yet boasts differing environments, such as diverse forests
fed by waters seeping from the nearby escarpment. Monkeys are abundant, but look out. Hold your nose when you reach the hippo pool because these big lumps smell!
  • An experience like this says you deserve time to reflect at your camp.
