After a classic Sicilian breakfast, it is time to discover Noto, the capital of Sicilian baroque, famous for its fine buildings of the early eighteenth century and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Inspired by the Baroque ideals of “open city”, Noto is a rare masterpiece and a clear example of the theatrical taste which characterised 18th century architecture. The local limestone has been burnt gold by the sun, hence the nickname of "golden city". Noto’s Baroque is in fact a game of elegant curves, floral weaves, perspective views palaces and gardens, capitals and ornaments that adorn the facades of churches and monasteries. Just a few kilometres up the coast from Italy's southernmost point lies one of Sicily's prettiest seaside villages: Marzamemi. It was the Arabs of the 10th century who put Marzamemi on the map. They not only gave the village its poetic name, "Mars al-hamam" (translating as something like "Turtle Dove Bay") but also built the original tonnara (tuna processing plant), which was to become one of the most important on the island. Although the tonnara itself is no longer in function, Marzamemi continues its artisanal fishing and processing activities, producing all manner of delicacies, including canned tuna, dried tuna roe ("bottarga" in Italian), smoked swordfish, marinated anchovies, seafood pasta condiments, tuna salamis and more. No better place to enjoy a sunny afternoon and a gourmet fish lunch! One more (yes, every corner of Sicily deserves one!) World Heritage Site is to be found in Modica, however our interest lies in the world-class chocolate prepared according to centuries-old recipes, which we will discover in a traditional chocolatier which has featured in many food TV programs. Return to Ragusa Ibla for a free evening with your choice of dinner in one of the many excellent local restaurants, from family-run to Michelin-starred delicacies.

After breakfast, departure towards Siracusa. On the way we can visit the traditional ham producer "Salumificio Monaco" in Palazzolo Acreide or a cheese producer and a wine cellar to try the famous "Nero d' Avola" in a family-run winery. There will be free time to relax in Ortigia before dinner at one of the locals' favorite restaurants in the narrow old streets of Ortigia where you will be able to enjoy more of the splendid local cuisine.

Siracusa was the most beautiful and greatest Greek colony in Sicily and a World Heritage Site. Our visit will start with the Archaeological Park of Neapolis, with its Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Latomie of Paradise and the Ear of Dionysius. We will also visit the unique underground Jewish ritual bath, nested in the cellar of a medieval building in the center of Ortigia. Ortigia has plenty of restaurants that are worth trying and your guide will make some recommendations according to your taste.

Today we have arranged a family-style, entertaining and informative experience starting with a market tour and continuing with a cooking class in a local home to prepare a full menu of local traditional recipes, and enjoy in a social lunch. If you're hungry by dinner time you can try another of the restaurants recommended by your guide or perhaps enjoy a sunset drink on the westward-facing side of the city.

Catania was the capital of the Kingdom of Sicily under the Aragonese dynasty and is notable for a scenic Cathedral and the splendid baroque Via dei Crociferi, with the famous S. Benedict Monastery. The city is characterised by an original baroque style and unique streets built with black lava stone creating an elegant effect. The highlight of the city visit is a street tour in the picturesque “pescheria”, the ancient fish market from where we will start our discovery of a set of local delicacies. Taormina: the most famous Sicilian location in the world evokes the Dolce Vita, hosts actors and actresses, and grants glamor, luxury and seaside relax. After visiting the fascinating Greek theatre, nested in a splendid location with spectacular views over the scenic beaches and the snow-capped Etna volcano, you will have free time for a nice walk among the picturesque medieval streets and go shopping around the local handicraft (coral jewels, precious laces, ceramics, sweets and much more). The day will end with an overview of the beautiful Riviera dei Ciclopi. After breakfast we will set foot on one of Sicilly's iconic symbols: mighty Etna, the highest (3350m) volcano in Europe and one of the largest and most active in the world, nowadays Unesco World Heritage Site. Its regional park hosts a unique flora and fauna, villages and farms, and traditional methods of forestry, bee-keeping, wineries, stonework and carpentry. We will reach the “Crateri Silvestri”, small volcanic cones now inactive, surrounded by ancient lava flows. The view beyond the mountain’s hundreds of subsidiary cones and craters, can extend across the whole of Sicily , the Aeolian islands and Calabria for a breath-taking experience. Have you aver tried a noble wine created on a vulcano? Today is your chance, visiting of a high-altitude winery with ample wine tasting of the peculiar local production with autochthonous varieties, served by a qualified sommelier and accompanied by typical local specialties. Return to the accommodation for relax and a farewell dinner.

Transfer to Catania airport in time for your departing flight. Alternatively, we can arrange a transfer to Palermo with a stop to visit the Temples of Agrigento.
