About this trip

Eat, Move, Om - Join us on a 4 day 3 night mindful Yoga and Ayurveda immersion among forest greens, located at the stunning Nature house of Schorfheide.

Eat  Our maverick chef Andreas will take you on a bespoke culinary journey with flavors spinning a tale of ancient Ayurveda and modern gourmet. From Ayurvedic falafel, pakora and samosa with mint yoghurt, beetroot and tamarind dates, the food story will feed your soul for days to come…

Move Meditation, movement and mantras will fill your days under the expert guidance of your lead teachers Aly and Urvashi. Pranayama and meditation techniques, Hatha/vinyasa flow classes  and yin yoga will be offered with a focus on creating a ritual of a safe home-practice. In our curated workshops we would be happy to provide hands on adjustments and discussions in a supported environment.

Om  Heard in temples and yoga studios and within ourselves, the primordial sound of creation has the power to reset and rebuild our outlook anytime anywhere. From Vipassana forest walks to journaling under the sun, from connecting to nature as a means of connecting with oneself, let thread our journey together as individuals and as a community.

Food

Andreas ChociKocht

Born in Germany to Sri Lankan parents, Andreas was that kid who always hung around his mom's kitchen. Tweaking and refining his maternal kitchen into something adventurous was what inspired him from the beginning. Soon he switched his engineering career to become a full time private chef. Today you can find him hosting small caterings, cooking courses and teaching health and nutrition especially on Ayurveda.

Andreas' father was an ayurvedic doctor and when he started to cook for a living he introduced more and more Ayurveda and especially its food into his life. At the moment he is in the process of writing an ayurvedic cookbook called Ayurvedic Bowls. And that style of food will be cooked and served during the retreat.

Urvashi Yadav

Urvashi first stumbled upon a yoga class in 2007 as a means of staying fit for her television career and has been on a mat ever since. The busy-people-dense city of Bombay with its snarling traffic, high rises, movie industry jobs and adventurous nightlife slowly gave way, like a crack in a wall through which the sun seeps in, to a world of inner engineering where the breath slowed down the spinning of the world by a notch or two. Stepping on a mat was like stepping into a time machine, like a homecoming - back to oneself.

Curiosity and a deep desire to learn from its source, led her to her first Hatha yoga teacher training in Rishikesh under the guidance of Master Surenderji. Blown away and yet strangely grounded by the experience, the journey took her to the Sivananda ashram in Kerala, in 2015 to complete her second teacher training. In the meantime she travelled the world and moved to Boston where she studied with the endlessly inspiring community of teachers.

As a serial expat, Urvashi draws on a wide range of traditional and modern movement modalities from India and the USA to create joyful, powerful classes. She weaves alignment, theory, humor and endless curiosity into her teaching to create space that is inclusive. Her classes help you explore stability, expansion, grace and effort in your practice. She believes the tools you develop on your mat are skills you take with you into the world as you move through the phases of your life.

Aly Mc Keown

Born in Ireland, Aly began classical ballet at the tender age of two. Her early years and childhood was spent between the dance studios and stages learning an array of styles including jazz, tap and contemporary dance. She joined a youth ballet company at fourteen years old which enhanced her love of ballet and sparked a deeper interest in continuing training to become a professional dancer.

By the age of sixteen, she was living and studying in the prestigious Legat School of Dance UK under the instruction of renowned teachers such as Mary Goodhew, Elizabeth Rae, Patrick Hinson and Christine Blewer. After completing her professional dance course and A levels she returned to Ireland to continue her dance education in performance and teaching diplomas.

Over the next 5+ years, Aly embarked on a world wide journey dancing, choreographing and teaching throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas.

Whilst living in Dubai in 2016 as a choreographer and ballet teacher feeling physically and mentally burnt out, Aly stumbled across a small yoga studio which was the beginning of whole new perspective of movement, breath and being. She was excited by the instant benefits of a physical yoga practice and breath control and how this brought a more well rounded sense of balance into her life.

Since then her passion and drive to learn, practice and explore the limbs of yoga and it’s traditional philosophy led her to India where she completed a 200hr teacher training course and certificate in Ayurvedic studies in the heart of Rishikesh. Further courses in post natal yoga were taken. She completed her 300hr studies with ULU yoga in December 2021.

Aly is a passionate human, committed to finding equilibrium physically, spiritually and emotionally. Her interests in mental health and overall well-being have allowed her to transform her world from the inside out, through a devoted practice, plant based living and serving communities where ever the journey takes her.

Her teaching has varied from NGO’s in Marrakech to VIP villas in Ibiza. Fast forward to 2022, Aly teaches breathwork, barre and yoga across Berlin in numerous fitness studios and has embarked on a path to share her personal experiences and knowledge to all. She believes yoga is for everybody of any age and any stage. Creating a safe space to explore the inner depths of our being.

She hopes to be able to inspire her clients by guiding them through their own journeys of breath, movement and love.
