About this trip

The Encuentros Summer Program is for 14- 18 year old students from around the world who want to discover themselves. Participants work with the Ecuadorian communities in the Andes, Amazon, and the Coast (with an optional week in the Galapagos). It includes 80 hours of community service, adventure, cultural immersion, leadership and entrepreneurship workshops, and participants agents of transformation. 

Ecuador makes an excellent classroom where participants learn about themselves and learn important life- skills such as perseverance, team work and initiative. After 10 years of programs, Encuentros has been a proven asset to getting participants into top international universities.

What’s included

Main program:
4 weeks in Ecuador. Food, travel within Ecuador accomodation, and teaching materials included.

10 hours of Spanish lessons included before the trip as well as extensive lessons throughout the trip.

Itinerary

Week 1
Pushing Our Limits in the Sierra
Dive headlong into Ecuador’s cultural, natural, and ethnic diversity. Through a combination of bike rides, hiking, empowerment and entrepreneurship workshops and other fun activities, participants broaden their horizons and gain a deeper appreciation for the country’s extraordinary wealth. Location visits include: Quito, Cumbaya, Otavalo, Cotacachi, Oyacachi, Papallacta.
