We begin by wandering through the charming colonial streets and iconic landmarks of Quito’s Historic Center — a UNESCO World Heritage Site. One of the highlights for children and adults alike is climbing the spiral staircase of the magnificent Gothic Basilica to reach its panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Old Town and the surrounding Andean foothills.
Then, take the TelefériQo gondola up the slopes of Pichincha Volcano. The cable car rises above the city to a viewpoint, where you can enjoy panoramic views over the whole city and nearby volcanoes if the weather is clear.

Enjoy a full day in the northern Andes with a visit to the famous Plaza de los Ponchos market, where kids can meet artisans and explore colorful textiles and crafts. Continue to Peguche Waterfall for an easy nature walk through eucalyptus forest.
Choose a family-friendly workshops — weaving, music, chocolate-making, or ceramics — perfect for curious young travelers.
If your family prefers more activity, you can take a moderate hike on the lower slopes of Imbabura Volcano. This route is suitable for kids 8+ and offers beautiful views of Andean lakes, highland páramo landscapes, and (with luck!) soaring condors.
A perfect way to feel the vastness and serenity of the Andes without a difficult climb.
End the day with an overnight stay in a charming Andean hacienda (colonial style mansion), surrounded by gardens, mountains, and warm local hospitality
On arrival of your domestic flight to San Cristobal, your local english-speaking guide will meet you right outside the luggage area, holding a sign with your name.
After checking in at your hotel, you’ll enjoy lunch and get fitted with your snorkeling gear (mask, snorkel, fins, and wetsuit), so everyone is ready for the adventures ahead.
In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Galapagos Interpretation Center, a perfect introduction to understand how the Galápagos Islands were formed, how animals arrived here, and why these islands are so important to protect today.
Next, you’ll follow a scenic trail to Frigate Bird Hill, a viewpoint with fantastic island panoramas. Kids will love spotting the silhouettes of frigate birds gliding in the sky.
After the walk, it’s time to explore the underwater world!
You’ll snorkel in the calm, shallow waters of the Tijeretas Bay. Here your family may see playful sea lions, colorful tropical fish, and, if you’re lucky, gentle sea turtles swimming by.

(Recommended for confident swimmers and adventurous kids 10+)

You’ll board a speedboat for a 45-minute ride to this iconic volcanic formation (locals call it “Sleeping Sea Lion” because of its shape). Kicker Rock rises dramatically from the ocean, creating a natural corridor where marine life concentrates — a true highlight for wildlife-loving families.
During snorkeling, you may see:
Galápagos sharks (absolutely harmless to humans)
Rays gliding through the water
Sea turtles
Colorful tropical fish, starfish, and coral
And if you’re lucky — hammerhead sharks (a safe and unforgettable sight!)

Enjoy a relaxed start to your day with time to explore at your own pace.
You may rent bikes and ride to Playa Mann, the nearest beach, just a short and easy ride away. It’s a perfect spot for families — calm waters for swimming, soft sand, and plenty of friendly sea lions lounging along the shore. You can take a refreshing dip, read your book, or enjoy a fresh juice from a nearby café.
Or simply stroll through town, stop for an ice cream, and enjoy the slow island rhythm.
After lunch, your guide will meet you at the hotel and accompany you to the pier. From there, you’ll board a shared speedboat to Santa Cruz Island (approx. 2 hours). The journey is scenic and refreshing — and if you’re lucky, you might even spot marine birds or dolphins along the way.
It’s an early afternoon departure, but the views over the open ocean make the ride unforgettable!
A day to explore Santa Cruz Highlands, where giant tortoises live freely in their natural habitat. This is a magical moment for kids and adults — seeing these ancient, gentle giants wandering across the green fields. You’ll also explore a real lava tunnel, learning how the islands were shaped by volcanic forces.
After lunch, you’ll take a short boat ride to Tortuga Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Galápagos. Here your family will have time to swim, relax, and look for marine iguanas sunbathing on the rocks.
As the day cools down, you’ll hike back along a 3 km paved trail through an impressive Opuntia cactus forest.
The evening is free to enjoy the town of Puerto Ayora that has many restaurants and is the best island for souvenir shopping. A fun family activity is an evening walk along the pier — you can often spot juvenile blacktip sharks swimming under the lights!
