About this trip

Educators!

Have you ever felt that your students lacked connection to you and to each other?

Are you interested in bringing Yoga into your classroom in a fun and relaxing way?

Would you like to teach your students how to slow down and breathe?

Have you desired tools to make your classroom environment more manageable?

Then join Rachel Rajput and Nina Portugal  for this Labor Day Weekend Retreat.  This is a relaxing, educational trip for schoolteachers, yoga teachers, and others who lead. Whether you teach infants, adults, or anyone in between, we think you will benefit from this experience.

We will begin our day with a light breakfast, followed by Morning Yoga. Brunch is a long and leisurely affair, followed by plenty of time for Hiking / Journaling / Hot Tubbing / Relaxing. We will then meet for afternoon workshops Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The theme is bringing Yoga and Mindfulness into your classroom. These sessions will be followed by Restorative Yoga and dinner. Turn in early, or join us for a campfire, conversation, and (of course) more Hot Tub time!

Non-teacher friends and partners are welcome...they can just skip the afternoon lecture sessions.

Our Retreat is held at Camp Double Bear in the Santa Cruz mountains. It will begin on Friday afternoon and go through Labor Day Monday at brunch. Camp Double Bear is a private camp situated on 100 acres in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The land is forested with madrones, firs, oaks, bays, and redwoods, and the views are amazing!

Rachel Rajput founded Left Coast Power Yoga in 2013 to bring a challenging, heated Power Yoga shala to the Oakland community. As a yoga instructor, she draws from her dance, theater, and improvisation background. She weaves bits of Yogic philosophy into every class and hopes that students come out of her classes ready to take on the world like true Warriors! She received her 200 Hr Certification from Laughing Lotus SF (with Keith Borden and Jasmine Tarkeshi, and her 300 Hr from Yoga Tree (with Jason Crandall, Janet Stone, Jane Austin, and Annie Carpenter.) Rachel believes that the power of your practice can make any of life’s problems, no matter how big or small, infinitely more manageable. She loves leading retreats both locally in Northern California.... and abroad!

I had a wonderful experience! I didn't know any of the participants and enjoyed being aware of my thoughts, insecurities, and letting myself get comfortable with the new experience. The classes were balanced beautifully; Lael and Rachel did a fantastic job and taking us through a very complete practice, allowing us time to rest, explore, socialize and practice. I cannot wait to join them again!

I love this retreat so much! This was the third time I joined Rachel, Lael, and Left Coast Power yogis on this unique and revitalizing adventure. Rachel has the formula nailed down and keep improving on it every time. From transportation, connecting us during travel and while in community on the retreat, planning and recruiting us for fun adventures (and reminding us that we can do as little or as much as we want 😉) are just a few points that I appreciate. Mar de Jade and its employees are amazing. They were pulling triple duty this time as there were two other groups on retreats at the same time we were there. Even with the abundance of other folks, we were still treated with kindness, consideration, and assistance in whatever form we needed. The food is amazing, the optional excursions are always a fun way to break up the trip, and the yoga 2X a day by Rachel and Lael is something you can't really put a price tag on. This is one of the most affordable and BOUNTIFUL trips I've ever experienced, and it's why I'm a repeat participator - who's coming with me next year?!

Everything was perfect and would definitely recommend this trip to everyone. The yoga was lead by Rachel and Lael and they are both beyond amazing. Mar de Jade was beautiful, the food was delicious (they can also accommodate any food restrictions you may have), they had optional activities every day, the massages were great and everyone who works there is so friendly and accommodating.
