Greetings, brothers and sisters! Are you ready for the trip of a lifetime? Are you excited to walk the same land that Abraham and Sarah, Joseph, Moses, and Jeremiah walked? Well, we are so excited to walk it with you! We really appreciate your entrusting us to plan such a trip for you, and we look forward to meeting you all and getting to know you more personally! Egypt, and especially Cairo, is a true adventure. We’ve put together this welcome packet to give you an idea of what to expect on your trip, as well as provide tips and reminders that will make your adventure more enjoyable. Altogether, we will be a group of around 50 people, and we will be together in the same bus as we travel around and explore. The Bible tour leader are Karim and Gamila Atallah. Arrival Tips and Reminders

VISA & PAPERWORK: It is the responsibility of each traveler to ensure they have a valid passport, travel insurance and all documents needed for the trip to Egypt. Please check the official website of the Egyptian Embassy in your country or the state website, as well as your airline for the latest requirement. For many nationalities, you may qualify for an E-Visa (which we recommend you get in advance HERE) or a Visa-on-arrival. The visa-on-arrival costs USD $25-30, and it is paid in Cash in USD.
general icon

Group Travel and Conduct

Be punctual, and be ready to leave in the morning not to delay the group. If you are not there on time, you might miss the bus. Please keep up with the tour guide and stay with the group. We will do our best to allow some free time to take pictures and self explore. Please return to the meeting point at the agreed time. Avoid, if possible, wearing strong perfumes or heavy chemical scents in the bus or indoor places, as others may be highly sensitive or allergic. Continue to display the Christian qualities of love, joy, peace, patience, and kindness. You are on vacation, don't let small things zap your joy. DO NOT bring any literature with you. The work of Jehovah’s Witnesses is banned in Egypt, and we don’t want any trouble for you at the airport if your bag is searched, and they ask why you have this literature. It’s simpler and safer to bring your phone or tablet to access the JW app. Please avoid wearing pins or badges that would identify you as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. It’s highly unlikely that you will be asked about the purpose of your visit, but if so, just say “sightseeing” or “tourism”. There is no need to mention Bible tours.
general icon

Tipping in Egypt

TIPPING in Egypt is customary and expected. That is why we recommend you set aside $100 (or equivalent in EGP) for tipping tour guides, drivers, housekeepers, waiters, bellhops...etc. We will collect this payment in cash upon arrival and we will handle all the tipping on your behalf throughout the trip. This way you don't have to worry about it and just enjoy your trip.
general icon

Mobile Data and Connectivity

We HIGHLY RECOMMEND having data roaming activated through your carrier or purchasing a data package from platforms like AIRALO, or buying a local SIM card on arrival to have data while you are in Egypt. E-SIM is supported in Egypt. Just make sure your phone is unlocked. The company providers are Orange, Etisalat, and Vodafone. All of them offer the same packages for the same price. You can purchase that at the airport on arrival. Our representative can help you with that.
general icon

Packing and What to Bring

Travel light. We will be moving between towns and cities, so we suggest you try to travel as light as possible, and leave room for souvenirs! We recommend no more than 1 checked bag and 1 carry-on. If you have more luggage, you may be subject to extra fees at the airport. Bring medicine, water bottle, SPF, tissues, hand gel, baby wipes, adapter, swim suit, snorkeling mask, and conservative clothing.

The project was developed by the military regime that took power following the 1952 Egyptian revolution, to better control flooding, provide increased water storage for irrigation and generate hydroelectricity. The dam was seen as pivotal to the country's industrialization plans. Like the earlier implementation, the High Dam has had a significant effect on the economy and culture of Egypt. When it was completed, it was the tallest earthen dam in the world, surpassing the Chatuge Dam in the United States.
