Elder, Mother
Remembering our spiritual foremothers
Women's gathering
Saturday, November 2nd
9am - 3pm
Through tea ceremony, creative movement, and the traditional art of loom weaving we will draw upon the wisdom, strength, imagination, and courage of our foremothers through time. Your remembered elder could be a mother, grandmother, aunt, teacher, activist, advocate, neighbor, nun, or any foremother you choose.
We will start the morning in circle, sipping an infusion of native elder berry and flower. From there you will be introduced to a healing movement form called WildCore. Brietta Leader, the founder of WildCore, and certified WildCore teacher, Korrine Rothrock, will guide participants down a path of self-discovery, healing, and expressive movement through a blending of choreography, conscious dance, breath-work and belonging.
Following WildCore, participants will receive a 10” loom, an array of natural fibers, and guided instruction from local weaving artist Sue Tye in creating their own sacred woven hoop to take home. Participants are encouraged to bring small treasures from home such as feathers, beads, or any small symbol which brings meaning to your weaving.
This event is for those wishing to connect with other women, feel alive in their bodies, share creativity, and remember the women who have made a positive imprint on their life.
