Todays travel will take us to The Assin Manso Slave River Site that served as the place where the enslaved  had their last bath on African soil before being marched down to the slave castles of Elmina and Cape Coast. We will then visit Cape Coast dungeons where we will take part in a Cleansing/ Naming  "Door of No Return' Ceremony. 

  We will travel to Kakum National Park and explore the rainforest and walk the tree canopy bridge suspended 150ft from the ground. Later on we will enjoy an Accra City Bus tour. 

We will visit the final resting place of W.E.B Dubois & the Centre for National Culture while we shop for authentic cultural items, and enjoy Osu, Ghana's bustling nightlife location. 

One of the highlights of our trip will be visiting KASI, a research and training institute for transmitting indigenous African knowledge of housing, organic agriculture, renewable energy, traditional medicine and cultural arts. We will lodge and learn at KASI for the next three days!

Located in the heart of the Volta Region at the foot of Afajato, Ghana's tallest mountain, Liati Wote is a hidden paradise. The town is surrounded by rainforest and boasts over 300 species of butterflies. Liati is home to Tagbo Waterfalls, descending 150ft from the Ghana/Tago mountain range.  We will visit the waterfall as well as learn about the history and traditions of the local people. 

We will take the steep climb up Mt. Afajato with a guide and be rewarded with breathtaking views. The mountain is believed to be the home of the god of the Ewe people, who are indigenous to the area. ( optional activity) 

Today will be our rest day. We will do any last minute shopping while we enjoy the city. 

Today we depart beautiful Ghana- Shuttle transportation will be provided to the airport.
