Welcome to Freetown, the vibrant tropical capital of Sierra Leone. Upon arrival at Lungi Airport, you will be greeted by our team and transferred to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, you will either spend your first night near the capital or head straight to Lunsar.
Lunsar, the birthplace of Reseed's initiatives, will captivate you with its red-earth landscapes, lush vegetation, and the warm hospitality of its people.
Along the way, you'll discover natural pools and waterfalls, cycle along red-earth tracks, visit projects supported by Reseed, meet programme beneficiaries, and share meals with local families.
A visit to Makeni, the heart of Street Child's work in Sierra Leone, offers the opportunity to discover the organisation's projects while exploring the region's rich cultural and natural heritage.
On day six, take part in the Street Child Race, one of the highlights of this itinerary. The route will lead you through some of the most beautiful landscapes in northern Sierra Leone, passing through lush greenery, red-earth tracks, and vibrant local communities.
Whether you choose to walk, jog, run or cycle, you'll be carried along by the enthusiasm of the local communities and the encouragement of children lining the route. In a warm and festive atmosphere, you'll make your way towards the finish line as part of a truly unique sporting, cultural, and social experience.
This option offers an immersive journey through the landscapes of northern Sierra Leone, inviting you to explore the Kabala and Fadugu region by bike and on foot.
Over two days, you'll ride through some of northern Sierra Leone's most beautiful scenery, following red-earth tracks that wind through rolling hills and lush greenery. Along the way, you'll visit one of Reseed's (NGO) bicycle repair and maintenance workshops and gain insight into how the organisation supports local communities through sustainable mobility initiatives.
You'll also enjoy a guided hike that takes you deeper into the region, through rural landscapes and villages nestled among the hills. A gentle and authentic experience, shaped by meaningful encounters and the warm hospitality of local communities. 🌿🚲
Back near the capital and its tropical beaches, the final stage of the journey still holds plenty of discoveries. From the Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary to an escape on the Guma Dam Peninsula, this part of the programme combines nature, relaxation, and unforgettable scenery.
