Michael is a fun an engaging workshop leader who kept us motivated to photograph from dawn to dusk. Eric add to the experience with his insight and feedback. I have participated in numerous workshops over the years and the team of Michael and Eric were very helpful, both in the field during shoots and afterwards. They freely offer and provide feedback which in my experience is not always the case. They connected with the participants, shared their experience and knowledge and helped me improve my photography. I highly recommend that you consider a workshop with Michael.

What an awesome experience with Michael and Eric. As an avid photographer for a number of years, I know and can “feel” what could make a good picture. Taking this workshop was so valuable as I learned so much more, and ways to make a good photograph better. From evaluating a scene for the affects of sunlight, to new (new to me) ways to edit photographs in Lightroom and Photoshop. This was my first photo workshop, and it will be hard to surpass the experience with Michael and Eric. Their synergy really showed during the shoots and processing sessions. Awesome, totally awesome.

This review is for the Death Valley workshop held in January 2025, with both Michael Shainblum and Eric Bennett. It was a fabulous experience. Anybody who follows landscape photography already knows that these are two very experienced and talented professional photographers. Instruction was very hands on; I definitely acquired new skills both artistic and technical. The workshop was extremely well organized. I have already signed up for another workshop with these two guys later this year (Utah Fall Colors).

I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Not only did Michael and Eric show us great locations but instructed us in new techniques for getting unique images. Also they are wonderful people.

The trip was just fantastic. Everything was very well organized. Lovely hotels, great food and amazing coffee stops on the way. Our guides have been the best you can get for a trip like that, in my opinion. They always made sure, that everyone felt comfortable. We had an amazing week, even if the weather was not perfect all the time. Our three guides had always the perfect location for us to take outstanding photos of Ireland’s beauty and their advice to settings and compositions was very helpful and always on point. The best workshop experience I’ve ever had. I would book again immediately.
