Do not book with Peru Bucket List - this is a 3rd party service provider. Communication was unclear; when we got on the bus, our guide thought everyone was going back to Cusco that day, while we were supposed to take the train to Machu Picchu. He had not been briefed. Thankfully, the guide knew how to assist us.
I booked with Peru Bucket List in April hoping to get circuit 2 tickets to Machu Picchu. They only purchased our tickets on October 21st, that is 3 weeks before our visit! They booked us on late trains to and from Ollantaytambo, which meant we had 2 very long and exhausting days. We did not end up staying at the hotel they booked us into, as it has a 2.7 star review on Google and is described as a love hotel in the search results! (Hotel para encuentros amorosos - the hotel is Hotel Machupicchu Inn if you want to look it up. The reviews speak for themselves).
Our Machu Picchu guide was late and did not meet us at the hotel as stipulated by the agency. He did his best but parts of what he told us were debunked by our guide at Saqsayhuaman the next day.
They say there is private transport back to Cusco, but someone was just waiting at the train station to bring us to a car with 4 other confused tourists with no further explanation. Having read stories of abuctions in Peru, warning not to get into random cars, made this a disconcerting experience.
The fact that I gave 2 stars and not 0 is solely thanks to our day 1 guide, who tried to help us and was very knowledgeable about his tour. So thanks, Eddy, for saving an otherwise sad trip.
I was not able to go on this trip because of health issues. I'm still waiting for a final answer about my situation. So Hard to say what I think right now. So I'm gonna put 4 stars but unrelated to the trek itself
Went to experience the Amazon and all it had to offer on the last leg of two months in Peru. And it was the perfect ending to a great holiday. Best guide and food we had and we did many excursions. Thanks to Luis and the rest!!
They do everything, all you need to do is relax and enjoy the experience, Mauricio and Guadalupe are the best, the transportation conformable, not all meals are included but they take you to wonderful places with a decent variety of food at good prices, due to climate conditions we didn't do the boat tour, but the plan B is good enough, the pisco thing not my fav, nice food and tasting, but I rather to spend more time in Huacachina instead of the pisco taste (imo), the Nazca day amazing, no queues, definitely a very good option.
