Before You Go

After the rainy season is over, the month of October is considered the best time to go, allowing the best views, blue sky and relatively warm weather during the day and not very cold at night.

The altitudes range from 2,840m/9300feet to 5,545m/18192feet. Temperatures vary significantly. Normally the mornings are warm, and walking in T-shirts is pleasant. But if the afternoon is cloudy, the temperature can drop to just above freezing with the possibility of snow. At night, up high, it will definitely drop below freezing.

You need to be reasonably fit – a hill-walker, someone who takes regular exercise. Expect hiking up and downhill 4-8 hours daily at the high altitudes. Trekking can be difficult in parts, but within the capabilities of any healthy person with an established level of walking fitness. Often stubbornness (endurance) helps. Walk at your own pace – slow and steady is the way to go – being fit or unfit is not the primary control here, it is how you deal with altitude. Additional days of stay at the high altitudes are included to ensure the adequate acclimatization.

You carry only your personal stuff – a light backpack for the daily trekking needs (water flask, camera, chocolate bars, jacket/ fleece sweater for the climate change). Porters will carry your trekking gear.

One of the best trips I had. Great company, very picturesque hikes and comfortable accommodations. Everything was organized perfectly with a good balance between hikes, sightseeing and free time. Karina took care of all the logistics, which made the trip very relaxing. We covered a lot of places in 12 days - more than it would be possible on my own. Highly recommended!
Amazing trip - great people, well-organized itinerary, and an opportunity to surround yourself with unbelievable nature all day, every day. A truly refreshing change of pace and surroundings. If you are hesitating about whether to sign up, nervous about traveling with people you don't know, doubting your level of physical preparedness, talk to Karina - and then do it! You won't regret it. This trip is a breath of air and an experience to remember for a lifetime.
It was an awesome trip!! Karina created the best agenda that allowed us to experience different places/things. The local crew/guide was professional and took care everything for us, and the food is better than expected. Karina stayed connected with us before and throughout the whole trip and responded quickly to our questions/concerns. Highly recommended!
This was a fantastic trip, with top-notch organization, carefully selected itineraries and a very professional local crew. The food was delicious and we enjoyed comfy accommodations as well. Karina is on every detail, so everything ran smoothly. Highly recommended!
We spent an excellent and adventurous two weeks with Karina in Patagonia this end of "summer". Karina created the perfect itinerary that allowed us to experience so many unique places there. It was a good mix of hiking and more relaxed days. We were hiking up and down the sides of mountains, walking on glacier (even had whiskey in the Ice Bar), had tour to visit penguin’s colony on Isla Magdalena, city tour, Tango Show and tango lesson. The trip was very robust in terms of activity level, and I would classify it (hiking part) as moderate/strenuous due to the long days of hiking. Five stars for Karina’s planning and organizational skills. I would definitely recommend this trip to my friends, and I look forward to new adventures with Karina.

One of the best trips I've done! I am mainly either a solo traveler or prefer to go with my family But 4 days hiking trip to Montana Glacier NP has changed my preferences :) Thank you very much, it's been a pleasure and FUN Met so many interesting intelligent people, would highly recommend if you enjoy active vacations

I traveled with Karina to Patagonia in 2020 and it was awesome! Perfect planning & organization throughout the trip, including dealing with the unexpected (e.g. lost luggage). I really liked other folks in the group and made several new friends in this trip. I highly recommend Karina's trips to casual and semi-serious hikers, and plan to be a return customer myself.
