Embark on a thrilling 9-day adventure to Everest Base Camp, starting with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Trek through stunning Sherpa villages, lush forests, and breathtaking landscapes, encountering iconic peaks like Everest and Ama Dablam along the way.

Experience the rich culture of the Sherpa people as you ascend through Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche, all while acclimatizing to high altitudes. The journey culminates at Everest Base Camp, where you’ll stand in awe of the Khumbu Icefall.

This trek promises not only spectacular views but also unforgettable memories and a deep connection to the Himalayas and its vibrant culture.

Day 1

Kathmandu to Phakding

 An early morning mountain flight to Lukla (2,840m) offers spectacular views of Gauri Shankar (7,135m), Melungtse (7,181m), and Numbur (6,959m), taking us to our gateway to Everest Base Camp and the land of Sherpas. Our trek heads northwards through the village of Lukla, descending to Ghat along the east bank of the Dudh Kosi, followed by a gentle climb and level meandering walk to Phakding (2,610m). Awaiting us are great views of Kusum Kanguru (6,367m) and warm Sherpa hospitality. Overnight in Phakding.

Phakding to Namche

 Leaving Phakding, we trek north along the Dudh Kosi, crossing suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags. As we climb towards Namche Bazaar (3,440m), the trail offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. After a challenging ascent, we arrive at Namche, the vibrant Sherpa capital, where colorful shops and lodges dot the landscape. This bustling village is the perfect place to acclimatize, as we take in views of the magnificent Everest and Ama Dablam. Overnight in Namche.

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

 After a leisurely breakfast, we set out towards Tengboche (3,867m), enjoying stunning vistas of Everest and the iconic Ama Dablam. The trail winds through picturesque forests of pine and rhododendron, with occasional glimpses of wildlife. Upon reaching Tengboche, we visit the renowned Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region, where we may witness a serene monk ceremony. The atmosphere is spiritual and tranquil, making it a highlight of our trek. Overnight in Tengboche.

Tengboche to Dingboche

 As we depart Tengboche, the trail descends into a lush valley before climbing towards Dingboche (4,410m). We trek through charming villages and fertile fields, with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. Arriving in Dingboche, we find ourselves in a picturesque village surrounded by towering mountains. This day allows for acclimatization; we can take a short hike to higher altitudes to aid our bodies in adjusting to the elevation. Overnight in Dingboche.

Dingboche to Lobuche

 Today’s trek leads us to Lobuche (4,940m), passing through beautiful landscapes that showcase the rugged terrain of the Himalayas. The trail ascends gradually, and as we approach Lobuche, we are greeted by breathtaking views of Nuptse and Pumori. Upon arrival, we take a moment to reflect at the Everest memorials, honoring climbers who have lost their lives on the mountain. The atmosphere is both somber and inspiring. Overnight in Lobuche.

Lobuche to Gorak Shep (Everest Base Camp)

 Our journey takes us to Gorak Shep (5,164m), where we drop off our gear before making the final ascent to Everest Base Camp (5,364m). The trail is a mix of rocky paths and glacial terrain, offering us a close-up view of the Khumbu Icefall. Standing at Base Camp, surrounded by towering peaks, we feel a sense of accomplishment and awe. After soaking in the atmosphere, we return to Gorak Shep for the night. Overnight in Gorak Shep.

Gorak Shep to Pangboche

 We rise early to hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m) for a stunning sunrise view over Everest. The ascent is steep, but the panoramic vistas reward our efforts. After descending to Gorak Shep for breakfast, we trek back towards Pangboche (3,930m), retracing our steps and enjoying fresh perspectives of the landscape. The trail is dotted with quaint villages, and we immerse ourselves in the Sherpa culture along the way. Overnight in Pangboche.

Pangboche to Namche Bazaar

 Leaving Pangboche, we continue our trek back to Namche Bazaar, where we can appreciate the familiar sights from our ascent. The trail leads us through lush forests and alongside the Dudh Kosi River. Upon reaching Namche, we can take some time to explore more of the village and visit local shops, immersing ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere one last time. Overnight in Namche.

Namche Bazaar to Lukla

 On our final day of trekking, we make our way back to Lukla, enjoying the scenic trail one last time. The journey takes us through beautiful landscapes, and as we arrive in Lukla, we celebrate our successful trek to Everest Base Camp. This evening, we gather with fellow trekkers to reflect on our adventures. Overnight in Lukla, preparing for our flight back to Kathmandu the next day.
