About this trip

Nepal government has launched its new logo for Vision 2020. The logo divinely mirrors peaks of Nepal and shows culture as essence of Nepal. It does not need much explanation why Nepal is worth visiting as the simple tagline “Visit Nepal 2020 - Lifetime Experiences says it all”.
Being travel entrepreneur I have bigger responsibility to contribute in this new vision and support Nepal Government. As the fact that, Tourism contributes utmost for uplifting the country’s economy. Icicles, a trekking company is welcoming tourist since 2013 and motivating youngster to explore Nepal rather than hanging up in new gadgets. Company with slogan” A Destination for the New Millennium” is working with tourist and believing “when reach to limit, limit expands”.

Everest base camp trek

Everest Base Camp Trek gives you an opportunity to visit some of the high-altitude destinations that only a handful of world’s population ever gets to visit. Following the footsteps of Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, trek along the foothills of Himalayan mountains including the world’s highest, Mount Everest (8848m). Stand beneath their massive shadows and feel humbled. En route experience Sherpa hospitality and culture, Buddhist spiritualism (the trails are littered with mani stones, chortens and colourful prayer flags) and amazing mountain scenery. The trek begins from Lukla, a Sherpa settlement known as the ‘Gateway to Everest’.

Following your experienced guide, trek through the valley of Dudh Koshi to Namche Bazar. Namche, a bustling trading hub filled with upscale mountain lodges, bakeries, shops and internet cafes, resembles an amphitheater carved on the sides of the mountains. You spend a day here acclimatizing before heading to Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorak Shep, and finally to Everest Base Camp. Challenging hikes to Kala Patthar (5,555m) and Nangkhartshang Peak (5082m) will test your endurance level but reward you with close up views of Mount Everest (8848m), Mount Pumori (7161m), Thamserku (6623m), Ama Dablam (6812m), Nuptse (7861m), Cho Oyu (8188m), Lhotse (8516m), Imja Tse/Island Peak (6160m) and several other peaks. The highlight of your trek is the visit to Everest Base Camp. Surrounded by tumbling glaciers and giant walls of snow and ice, the place is the first campsite for climbers trying to scale Mount Everest.

NOTE: It is recommended that you should arrive in Kathmandu a day earlier before you start your trek (if you do not have a day tour of KTM scheduled). When you arrive a day earlier, you will have time to rest as well as time to buy trekking equipment if necessary. Similarly, it is best to have some extra days (1 or 2) after you have finished your trek because your flight to Kathmandu from Lukla might be cancelled or delayed due to bad weather. So all together it is recommended to have a few extra days beside the trip schedule so that you don’t miss your International Flight.
