Itinerary

Day 11
Trek Gorak Shep to Dingboche with optional climb of Kala Pattar

Grorak Step (16,929 ft) to Kala Pattar (18,192 ft) to Dingboche (14,304 ft)

Early this morning you have the option to stay warm and sleep in...or get up early (still dark!) and trek to the Everest View peak, or Kala Pattar. While it may look like a small hill when surrounded by the massive nearby peaks, Kala Pattar is over 18,000 feet and the highest point on our trek. If the weather is good, you'll see the sun rise behind Mount Everest! We'll trek back down to Gorak Shep for breakfast, and then split with the group that just trekked to base camp after lunch, as they head down to Pheriche. We'll stay high and stop back in Dingboche tonight.

Lodging: Teahouse

No meals included
