Balata Yaku

 Day 3

This day will begin with an early breakfast at 5:00 AM, and we’ll depart in the soft light between darkness and dawn to reach our favorite spot: the Balata River, a blackwater river that welcomes us with its unique tranquility. Here, we’ll embark on a paddling canoe to observe our resident birds, such as the wire-tailed manakin, among many other fascinating and beautiful species. At 10:00 AM, we’ll take a refreshment break and continue our search, as this generous river will reveal the incredible variety of birds that inhabit its banks, all in absolute silence, where it will be just you and nature.

As the day brightens and the sun rises higher, the birds will begin to rest, so we’ll return to the Lodge for a delicious lunch. Afterward, we’ll take a well-deserved break until 3:30 PM, when the sun starts to lower, and the conditions will be perfect for a final excursion near the Lodge in search of shorebirds. At 8:00 PM, we’ll gather for a delicious dinner and prepare for the next full day of adventures.

Day 4

Full day # 2 Zabalo River

  Day 4

This day will begin with an early breakfast at 5:00 AM, and we’ll set off in the dim light between dusk and dawn towards our favorite destination: the Zabalo River, a blackwater river that greets us with its unique tranquility. From our canoe, without the need to disembark, we will enjoy birdwatching, observing many fascinating and beautifully diverse species. At 10:00 AM, we’ll take a break for refreshments and continue our search, as this generous river will reveal the impressive variety of birds that inhabit its banks, all in complete silence, where only you and nature will be present in its purest form.

As the day progresses and the sun rises higher, the birds will retreat to rest, so we’ll take a short trail to continue birdwatching and enjoy a delicious box lunch. Afterwards, we’ll return to our Lodge, marking the end of our captivating journey in search of the birds that make this place an unparalleled natural sanctuary.

Day 5

Return to the Home

This day is especially emotional for us, as we must say goodbye after sharing a week together in the jungle. We don’t see ourselves as mere guests; we feel like one more family member of the community. That’s why we say our farewell to the jungle very early, with our hearts full of gratitude.

Given the remote location of our Lodge, it’s important to note that the airlines only offer one flight per day, and these flights are only in the morning. Unfortunately, this means it’s not possible to catch the scheduled flight if you leave directly from the Lodge without proper planning.

Therefore, we offer you two options: the first is to depart early at 4:00 a.m. from the Lodge to arrive at the airport by 9:30 a.m. The second option is more relaxed: you can spend a night in Coca, enjoying one last evening before taking the flight the following day. We recommend carefully considering both options and deciding which best suits your needs and schedule.
