We begin our day with a tour of the City of Whitehorse, including visiting the S.S. Klondike, the Log Cabin Skyscraper, and more.

Private Tour of the MacBride Museum of Yukon History

We will visit MacBride Museum of Yukon History, the oldest museum in the Yukon. Built in 1952, the Macbride Museum features historical exhibitions on the First Peoples', the Yukon Gold Rush, and more.
Northern Cultural Expressions

Following our museum tour, we will take a woodcarving course at the Northern Cultural Expressions Society, a non-profit organization run by local artisans.

We’ll be picked up and driven out to the outskirts of Whitehorse for a dogsledding excursion. We’ll learn the history of dogsledding, and even get the opportunity to mush our own teams of huskies!

We'll take a scenic drive into the mountains around Whitehorse, stopping at scenic vistas overlooking the city. Other sites include Whitehorse Dam, Schwatka Lake, and the longest fish ladder in the world!

Beringia Interpretive Center, Wildlife Refuge, Hot Springs, and Private Astronomy

We'll start late with a brief tour of the Beringia Interpretive Center and their fascinating galleries on Ice Age life.
Yukon Wildlife Preserve

We'll explore the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, home to moose, elk, bison, and other native Yukon wildlife.
Takhini Hot Springs and Spa

We'll move swiftly from exploring the wildlife preserve to relaxing at the hot springs and spa, with the opportunity to enjoy saunas, natural spring pools, and everything else the spa has to offer.
Yukon Astronomical Society Observatory

We'll end our day with a private class at the Yukon Astronomical Society Observatory, where an operator will give us exclusive access to the observatory's telescope!

Travel Tips
Travel Tips
Whitehorse is drier and milder than most of the Yukon, but still can drop to -40C. Pack and wear several layers to stay warm.
Bears are rare, but can still be seen within city limits. Bear spray can offer some peace of mind.
Keep small change handy for tips and local purchases.
Cell service is available in Whitehorse, but less so on highways and in more rural areas. Plan accordingly.
Even though it's cold, you can still get dehydrated. Drink plenty of water on excursions!
