Travel Tips

  1. Whitehorse is drier and milder than most of the Yukon, but still can drop to -40C. Pack and wear several layers to stay warm.

  2. Bears are rare, but can still be seen within city limits. Bear spray can offer some peace of mind.

  3. Keep small change handy for tips and local purchases.

  4. Cell service is available in Whitehorse, but less so on highways and in more rural areas. Plan accordingly.

  5. Even though it's cold, you can still get dehydrated. Drink plenty of water on excursions!
