Duration 8 days / 7 nights

Day 1:
Arrival in Marrakech

and transfer from the airport to your riad in the medina. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 2:
Marhaba in Marrakech

Today, after breakfast, the guide will show you around in the vibrant, oriental city of Marrakech. You will discover a lot of interesting places: sightseeing of the Koutoubia mosque, the Saadian Tombs and the palaces Dar Sidi Said and the Palais Bahia. The Mellah and the souks are also on the program. Arrangement of the half-day tour as desired with your city guide. Highlight is the Medina with its colourful daily life and the market place “Djemaa el Fna”.

Day 3:
The High Atlas and the Kasbahs – Oasis of Skoura

Telouet is a residence of the Atlas King El-Glaoui and one of the highlights of a journey across the High Atlas. We visit the Kasbah of the Glaoui Royal Family before we continue our tour through the impressive gorges of the High Atlas to the fortified city of Kasbah Ait Benhaddou. This was another residence of the Atlas King El-Glaoui and already served in many films as impressive backdrop. In the evening we reach the oasis of Skoura, surrounded by a very special landscape. Here we get to know the irrigation technique of the region and learn the most original way to produce pottery. We visit the Kasbah Amerhidil, country's oldest Kasbah and hike along the river. Two nights in Skoura on half-board basis in a comfortable and traditional Kasbah hotel, with a large garden and its own spring.

Day 4:
Dades Gorges

Today we start by entering the Rose Valley. We are following the road until Boutaghrar and then go off-road. High up in the mountain we visit a group of native Berber, living in caves like in former times. Hospitality is a major sign of respect and we are invited for a cup of tea and an interchange of traditions. We continue through the valley of the river Dades, a wonderful play of nature with amazing rock formations. Overnight on half-board basis in a comfortable, traditional Kasbah hotel.

Day 5:
Todra Gorges– Merzouga – Camel trek and Desert camp

We leave the Dades Valley  behind us and continue to the centre of Tinerhir. Here we take a detour to visit the huge palm oasis and stroll through the famous Todra Gorge – a must-see in this area!  We then head out towards the Sahara Desert, past stunning Kasbahs, stopping at Erfoud to visit its renowned Fossil Museum, featured in David Attenborough’s recent BBC TV series about the origins of life on earth. After a short ride, we take a break to enjoy a cup of local tea at the foot of the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi in the Sahara. Time then for your next and unforgettable adventure: a 2-hours-trek with a camel to the heart of the desert, guided by a nomadic camel driver! Enjoy the splendour of colour on the dunes and the spectacle of light and shadow on the sand through the light of the setting sun. Breathtakingly beautiful! The journey brings you to a desert camp with traditional nomad tents, where you can relax, have dinner, listen to traditional music around the camp fire, or wander into the dunes and marvel at the shining stars…

Day 6:
Sahara Desert – Rissani – N'Kob – Kasbah Oulad Othman

Wake up early to see the sunrise over the dunes – it is really fun to climb the nearest dune to admire all this! Enjoy breakfast in your camp before a 45-minute camel ride back to your car, which awaits you at a hotel, offering a second breakfast and the opportunity to take a shower. We then drive to Kasbah Oulad Othmane, located in the Drâa Valley. Here we visit a village community, its school and learn more about the cultivation of the crops in the oasis. Overnight stay with half board in a traditional and comfortable Kasbah in Oulad Othmane.

Day 7:
Ouarzazate - Marrakech

We pass through the Drâa Valley, we cross the Tizi-n-Tinififft pass (1660m) and drive through the mountain village of Ait Saoun with panoramic views of the Drâa Valley and the Atlas Mountains. This brings us back to Ouarzazate, where we visit the Film Studios, which have been the location for many famous Hollywood movies. We change directions and take a different route to the remote heart of the High Atlas, to the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, where you undoubtedly will enjoy the mountain scenery in the afternoon sunlight. Arrival at your hotel in Marrakech in the evening.
