Highlights

The Peddars Way is an historic Roman road.  Follow in the footsteps of the Romans from the middle of Knettishall Heath which is just outside Thetford, all the way to the North Norfolk Coast. On the way you'll come across priory and castle ruins, ancient woodland , heathland and arrow straight Roman roads, as well as old burial mounds and ice age pingo ponds. This is a really peaceful wonderful walk.

The Norfolk Coast Path, by contrast, will take you over sand dunes and beaches, national nature reserves, salt marshes and cliffs, coastal villages and Victorian towns, working fishing ports, as well as presenting you with amazing wildlife.  You'll also love the huge skies that only Norfolk can give you!

I'm Suzy Watson, and I established Explore Norfolk UK in 2013. This covers walking and cycling holidays. As I was walking along a stretch of the Norfolk Coast Path and being stunned by its beauty yet again, I suddenly realised just what I could offer visitors to Norfolk. Then a cycling route came along so I did the same for this! So, as well as living in Norfolk, I am here to give you the opportunity to book a fantastic and memorable Norfolk walking or cycling holiday through Explore Norfolk UK, a truly Norfolk business.

We had a fabulous walking holiday despite the variable weather. We really appreciated the attention to detail in the pre-walk information, such as where we could eat in the evening and lunch / refreshments options, and a summary of what we could expect each day whilst walking. The accommodation was overall very good, being in convenient locations we could easily walk to from the path, and very welcoming hosts. We felt Suzy added a personal touch, with great communication and went over and above in the service she offered compared to other travel organisations we have used for other walks. Thanks Suzy!

I had a great time and really enjoyed all 3 walks. The Peddar’s way, the coast and then the weavers way covered such different landscapes. I leant heaps and saw lots and met interesting people. All the people were local and I didn’t come across any other toursists, which was lovely. The trip was really well organised by Suzy and all the information provided was clear and I had no need to contact her as a result. My bag was moved each day and that was well organised and never any mix ups or delays . The accommodation was all really clean and pleasant. I couldn’t speak highly enough of how thorough and organised Suzy was and how helpful when I was initially organising the walk. Norfolk was a great place to visit and to do a long distance walk and Suzy ensured all the logistics were organised so I could enjoy the walk. I would certainly recommend Explore Norfolk and Suzy to anyone interested in a walking holiday in Norfolk.

five days of serious cycling for two older cyclists with panniers. Not an easy route as there is so much which is politely called ‘gravel’ (sand, loose shingle, mud, as well as some much better off road surfaces). Explore Norfolk UK planned the accommodation for us, and would have arranged luggage transport had we wanted it. B&Bs, secure bike storage (although one bike spent one night outside), all very satisfactory. Suzy provided clear info about where we were staying, route info and some touring tips. And cycling UK provided other route info. And it was probably a bit cheaper than if we had done it ourselves. I already knew Norfolk, my companion didn’t. Wells next the Sea was the best overnight stop. , interesting sea history, old boats etc.

The trim was meticulously organised and all went to plan. Accomodation was all good and interestingly varied ditto the evening meals where we were always able to find a non-fish option [ we don't like fish which is a bit silly for a coastal holiday! Many thanks, Suzy. Jane and Chris

The weather was mostly conducive but there had been lots of rain and two days were dismally wet. The Peddars Way route was well marked and the guide book was helpful. On the Peddars Way most tracks were deeply grooved by equipment and bikes so that walking was difficult and at this time many puddles and boggy spaces had to be negotiated. In some places the puddles were so wide there was no option than to walk in blackberries or brave electric or barbed wire fences! So many tracks on the Coast Walk made the way sometimes difficult to follow. Some of the day trip distances were a bit long for us in the adverse conditions. The organisation of our trip, moving our luggage, accommodation, meal recommendations, transport and follow up was excellent. We would recommend highly WeTravel. Thank you for your care and attention to detail!
