Arrival

Arrival

Arrive in Hunstanton and stay the night.

Due to accommodations in Brancaster only taking 2 night stays on a Friday and Saturday, you will be unable to start this package arriving in Norfolk on a Thursday or Friday.

Day 1

Day 1 image

10 miles/16 km - walking from Hunstanton to Brancaster

This is a beautiful walk along the Old Hunstanton golf course, the sand dunes and then over to Holme Nature Reserve, along board walks, through pine forests and onto the sea defence bank towards Thornham. The next stretch of the Norfolk Coast Path takes you away from the coast bypassing Titchwell and arriving back in Brancaster.

Day 2

Day 2 image

8 miles/12.8 km - walk from Brancaster to Burnham Market

From Brancaster you have glorious views over the marshes as you head off on more sea defences towards Burnham Overy Staithe.

Here you'll come inland to walk to the pretty Georgian town of Burnham Market.

Day 3

Day 3 image

8.7 miles/14 km - walk from Burnham Market to Wells-next-the-Sea

Retracing your steps back to Burnham Overy Staithe (or catching the bus) you head out along the creek towards the sand dunes to arrive at Gun Hill. This next stretch of the Norfolk Coast Path takes in the well-known and beautiful Holkham beach and continues on to your destination of the very popular working fishing port of Wells-next-the-Sea.

Day 4

Day 4 image

7.5 miles/12 km - from Wells-next-the-Sea to Blakeney

Heading through more wonderful salt marshes with incredible views towards Blakeney Point, and a few sea defences and marshes later you reach the quay in the pretty village of Blakeney.

Day 5

Day 5 image

7.5 miles/12 km - from Blakeney to Weybourne

A short walk over the sea defences and you arrive in the attractive flint stone village of Cley. This is a very different walk today on the Norfolk Coast Path. Heading on past Cley Nature Reserve, a large chunk of this walk is shingle. It can be hard going on this part of the Norfolk Coast Path, but the landscape and the feeling of remoteness is very different to what you will have seen so far. The landscape changes dramatically from the beginning of the day’s walk to the end. You eventually arrive on the cliff tops at Weybourne where coastal erosion is very evident. You would then catch the bus back to Blakeney.

Day 6

Day 6 image

7.5 miles/12 km - from Weybourne to Cromer

Today the walk starts on the cliff tops as you walk from Weybourne to Sheringham and arrive at Cromer on the cliff face looking down on the Pier.

About your organizer

I'm Suzy Watson, and I established Explore Norfolk UK in 2013. This covers walking and cycling holidays. As I was walking along a stretch of the Norfolk Coast Path and being stunned by its beauty yet again, I suddenly realised just what I could offer visitors to Norfolk. Then a cycling route came along so I did the same for this! So, as well as living in Norfolk, I am here to give you the opportunity to book a fantastic and memorable Norfolk walking or cycling holiday through Explore Norfolk UK, a truly Norfolk business.
