5.6 miles/9 km - walking from Norwich to Drayton
Starting the day from either Norwich Cathedral or St John's Cathedral, today takes you past lots of churches in Norwich to eventually arrive at the start of the Marriot's Way which you follow for the remainder of the day.
This day will give you plenty of time to stop at the churches and admire the historic city.
You finish your day in Drayton where you can come off the path to the church and wait for the taxi which will take you to your accommodation.

6.7 miles/10.7 km - walking from Drayton to Weston Longville
Taxi transfer back to Drayton
From the turn-off after Drayton, you then follow the distinctive Walsingham Way waymarkers, with a short walk running alongside the busy main road. Once past here you walk through woods and a small stretch of marsh over the River Wensum until you reach Royal Hill with a wonderful view down to Ringland. Divert to the church to see the fantastic roof.
Continuing on quiet lanes, you then turn off into the village of Weston Longville for the night.

The route follows quiet roads and a few farm tracks and green paths from Weston Longville, passing the villages of Lyng and Elsing until you arrive in Swanton Morley.

5.7 miles/19.1 km - walking from Swanton Morley to North Elmham
Heading towards North Elmham today with detours to various churches and the ruins of the Anglo Saxon Cathedral at North Elmham. This is the highest point of the Walsingham Way. You can take a wander around this chapel when you've settled in to your accommodation, or have a look at it the next day as the route take you out of North Elmham.

9.5 miles/15.2 km - walking from Gt Ryburgh to Walsingham
Walking out of Gt Ryburgh, you cross the River Wensum for the last time and wander along quiet lanes passing Stibbard church and the churches in Little and Great Snoring. Once through Snoring you then reach Greenway, a track which takes you directly into Walsingham, or if you want to pass the Slipper Chapel you take the Barsham Road.
Taking the route via the Slipper Chapel means you walk the last mile on a pilgrim path towards Walsingham.

Our walk was a great experience overall. I highly recommend her Explore Norfolk: Suzy Watson was knowledgeable, responsive and professional, both throughout the planning for the trip and during our walk as well. And Suzy went out of her way to be helpful - she even loaned us a set of poles for the walk. It was reassuring to know that she had personally met all the hosts where we would be staying. And in many places, the lodgings exceeded our expectations: The Chequers in Thompson, The Olde Windmill in Great Cressingham, The King William IV in Sedgeford, The Globe in Wells, The Red Lion is Stiffkey, The White Horse in Blakeney. Everywhere we stayed staff were accommodating and friendly, and the breakfast was very good. And of course, the landscapes were beautiful, interesting and restful. (A special thank you goes to all the lovely folks at The Hub Café in Pickenham - what a wonderful chance encounter that was: full of charm, advice for the walk, tasty cakes and excellent coffee!)

Lovely short walk, well marked . Peaceful with lovely countryside changing on the journey. Lovely varied accommodation on route. Would love to do it again

This was a very well organised trip, which ran like clockwork. The hotels were all very comfortable, and some were quite special. A lot of attention to detail has gone into putting this together.

Suzy had organised everything incredibly well. Luggage picked up and always there when we arrived at our accommodation. All the accommodation was very good. Some even better than that! And it's all the smaller details we appreciated: great communication, detailed itinerary, clear walking instructions with photos, and even luggage tags. Highly recommended.
