Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 Fully Equipped

Our Toyota Land Cruiser 4.0L V6 Petrol 4x4 Double Cab is built for comfort, safety, and self-sufficient exploration on your Kruger Overlanding Safari.

Features include:

  • Rooftop tent plus dome tent with 2 foldable stretchers for flexible sleeping arrangements.

  • Bed linens, pillows, duvets, and shower/bath towels provided for a cozy and comfortable stay.

  • Fuel storage: 2 x 20L jerry cans (40L total) for extended off-grid travel.

  • Navigation: Paper maps included for classic overlanding navigation.

  • Safety equipment: 2 fire extinguishers, 2 reflective vests, and 2 reflective triangles.

  • Dual battery system to power 12V equipment, including fridge/freezer and mobile devices.

Flights

International flights aren’t included, but we’re happy to help with domestic flights, including round trips between Johannesburg and Hoedspruit!

Travel/Health Insurance

Travel and health insurance are not included. Clients must arrange their own coverage to protect against medical emergencies, trip interruptions, and other unexpected situations.

Gratuities

Tipping is customary for guides and host. We suggest budgeting about 10–15% of the trip cost for guides and hosts. Small tips for lodge staff are appreciated but never required.

Lunches Camp Restaurants

Lunch is not included, so you can dine at camp restaurants with breathtaking views of watering holes while spotting wildlife. Budget ~$20 per meal.

Alcohol & Soft Drinks

Not included. Available for purchase at rest camps and lodges.

Visa Fees (if required)

Travelers are responsible for securing any necessary visas before arrival.

Personal Expenses

Souvenirs, laundry, SIM cards, snacks, and other personal items are not included.

Day 1

Enter Kruger & Begin Overlanding Adventure

Upon arrival, at Hoedspruit airpot you’ll meet your FGASA-certified guide and tour host before starting your overlanding journey into the park.

Travel through Kruger in your fully equipped Land Cruiser, stopping for lunch along the way at one of the park’s rest camps. Arrive at Balule Camp by late afternoon, set up your rooftop or dome tent, and settle in for your first night under the African stars. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the bush, a perfect introduction to your immersive safari adventure.

Rustic Charm in the Heart of Kruger

Set along the Olifants River, Balule is one of Kruger’s smallest and most rustic camps. Unfenced and completely off-grid, it offers a quiet, authentic bush experience for travelers seeking solitude and simplicity.

On-site Facilities:

  • Communal ablutions with hot showers and flushing toilets

  • Basic shared kitchen area with sinks (no electricity or cooking equipment)

  • No electricity (gas and paraffin lighting only)

  • No shop, fuel, or reception—self-sufficiency is essential

Nearby Services (11 km / 20–30 min drive):

  • Shop with groceries, drinks, snacks, and souvenirs

  • Fuel station

  • Restaurant with panoramic Olifants River views

  • Reception and emergency assistance

Day 2

Game Drives Along the Olifants River

Wake up to the sounds of the African bush at Balule Camp and enjoy a morning game drive in your fully equipped Land Cruiser. Travel along the Olifants River and its surrounding floodplains, where you’ll encounter diverse wildlife including elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of antelope species.

After returning to camp for a mid-day rest and lunch, set out again for an afternoon game drive. With your FGASA-certified guide and tour host, explore hidden trails and vantage points that reveal panoramic river views and excellent photographic opportunities.

As the sun sets over the river, return to Balule Camp to relax under the stars, share stories from the day, and prepare for the next leg of your overlanding adventure.

Day 3

Overlanding to Tsendze Camp

Pack up your rooftop and dome tents and set off northwards through Kruger National Park in your fully equipped Land Cruiser. Travel along off-the-beaten-path routes, spotting wildlife along the way.

Stop for a scenic picnic lunch in the bush, then continue to Tsendze Camp, a tranquil and remote northern camp. Upon arrival, set up camp, relax, and soak in the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

In the late afternoon, enjoy a game drive near the camp before returning to relax at camp and enjoy dinner under the stars.

A Quiet Corner of Kruger

Tsendze is a peaceful, unfenced bush camp nestled under shady Mopani trees, just 7 km south of Mopani Rest Camp. Known for its quiet atmosphere and abundant wildlife, it’s perfect for travelers seeking a simple, rustic connection with nature.

On-site Facilities:

  • Communal ablutions with gas-powered hot showers and flushing toilets

  • Outdoor wash-up area (no kitchen or cooking equipment)

  • No electricity (solar lighting in ablutions only)

  • No shop or fuel—full self-sufficiency required

Nearby Services (10–15 min drive):

  • Shop with groceries, snacks, braai supplies, and souvenirs

  • Fuel station

  • Restaurant with dam views, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 4-5

Wildlife Adventures Around Tsendze

Spend two full days exploring the area around Tsendze Camp in your fully equipped Land Cruiser. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, seeking out elephants, lions, buffalo, and a variety of other wildlife in this quieter, less-visited section of Kruger.

Take in the sights and sounds of the bush, from winding rivers and Mopani woodlands to open savannahs teeming with wildlife. Relax at camp between drives, soak in the tranquility of the surroundings, and experience the rhythm of the African wilderness.

Evenings are spent under the stars at Tsendze, sharing stories of the day and enjoying the peaceful bush atmosphere.

Day 6

Journey’s End, Spirit Remains

Begin your final morning at Tsendze Camp with a warm coffee around the fire, soaking in the last moments of the African bush. Pack up your rooftop and dome tents and journey toward Hoedspruit Airport to return your Land Cruiser.

Fly back to Johannesburg to connect with your evening international departure. As you leave Kruger behind, carry with you the rhythms of the bush, the sunsets over wide savannahs, and the freedom of the open trail. Memories of overlanding adventures that will stay with you long after the wheels stop turning.
