About this trip

7 nights onboard the Red Sea RE Aggressor + up to 25 dives

Join Blue Planet for another week of incredible diving in the Red Sea! Our “Deep South” itinerary will have us exploring the stunning reefs and beautiful swim-through caves of the less-visited southern Red Sea. And for those who want to explore Egypt’s historical sites, we can offer a post-liveaboard adventure to take in the must-see attractions in Luxor, Cairo and beyond.

Red Sea

Beneath the crystal blue surface of the Red Sea lies a rich and diverse ecosystem just waiting to be explored. Located between Africa and Asia, the warm tropical waters are home to more than 1100 species of fish, 200 species of hard and soft corals and 44 species of shark. This rich diversity is in part due to the expanse of coral reef that extends along its coastline.

The Red Sea is a unique marine paradise that offers some of the most spectacular diving in the world. With miles of beautiful coral reef, numerous wrecks and a vast array of marine life: from brightly colored nudibranchs and tropical fish, to large pelagics such as oceanic white tips and hammerheads, there really is something for everyone!

The Diving

Minimum dive certification/experience: PADI Open Water Diver required. PADI Enriched Air/Nitrox Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications strongly recommended (can be completed on trip). The minimum age to scuba dive in the Red Sea is 15 years of age.

The Deep South Egypt itinerary encompasses a mixture of 40% island drift diving from the skiffs at Rocky Island and Zabargad Island and other Habili reefs that do not break the surface of the water, and 60% protected coral reef and cave diving in the St John and Fury Shoals area from the back of the RE Aggressor mothership. In between dives, you may snorkel, explore secluded beaches or just relax with a cold drink and midmorning/mid afternoon snack. You may dive up to 3-5 dives per day including night diving when possible. (subject to change due to weather conditions).

Red Sea RE Aggressor

The Red Sea RE Aggressor, formerly the well known Royal Evolution, is a spacious 128 ft. yacht with a 28 ft. beam, built and powered for comfort, safety and stability. She is diesel powered, cruises at 10-12 knots and has 220-volt power. Comfortable accommodations for 24 guests include 12 spacious staterooms each independently air-conditioned, a private bathroom/shower, picture window or porthole view, mirrored cabinet, hair dryer, fresh towels, safety deposit box, mini fridge, smoke detectors, sprinkler system and sound system with volume controls. Each stateroom has a TV and media player.

The Red Sea RE Aggressor has 4 Master staterooms; 2 with a queen bed and 2 with single beds and 8 Deluxe staterooms, each with two single beds. The yacht has a beautiful spacious salon, large sun deck with shading, hot tub, chaise lounges and deck chairs, and bar.

We will embark and disembark in Port Ghalib, a 10-minute drive from the Marsa Alam airport (RMF) and 4 hours from the Hurghada airport (HRG). Please contact the shop before booking flights to confirm details. You can find more information here.

We are still sorting out the arrangements for the land-based tour. Contact the shop for more info.

As someone new to diving, this was the perfect open water certification trip! I was a bit nervous on my first dive, but that anxiety quickly turned to excitement - primarily due to Ryan's patient and encouraging approach to the certification dives. Ultimately, because of Jen and Ryan's excellent instruction, I felt confident enough to close the trip with a night dive (which is easily one of the coolest things I've ever experienced)! We also had an excellent boat crew - Brett delivered thorough pre-dive briefs and sometimes joined us on the dives while Roy expertly navigated the boat with a warm, friendly presence. From the beautiful resort to the fun and welcoming group of divers on the trip, I can't imagine a better first scuba diving experience.

Trip was absolutely fantastic. Resort was perfect, lots of great food both on and off the resort. Blue Planet, Ryan and Jen made us feel at home and I can’t think of anything that would have improved the trip. St Maarten’s slogan of “The Friendly Island” could not have been more true.

Terrific diving. Rich colors, great dive staff. Trip complicated by weather, resulting in day late arrival in Cozumel. I previously paid for an additional night so was able to complete all three days diving. Blue Planet did a great job managing the changes and supporting those of us not taking classes. Among the most glorious colors and variety Ive seen so far. Huge fish. Big thanks to Blue Planet.

We're so glad you joined us in Cozumel! It's such an amazing place to dive. To bad we can't control the weather, but it seems like everyone still made the most of it and had a good time! We'll look forward to seeing you on the next adventure!

Awesome experience! I was a solo traveler and completely novice to diving and felt very well taken care of by the instructors. I also met a lot of really nice people that I look forward to seeing again! I will be looking out for another dive trip with this group and I’m so happy I found them!
