Planning international travel — especially a multi-day trip to a new country — can be overwhelming. One thing we want you to know, at the time of posting this itinerary, some venues might not have opened their booking system, so we might not have confirmation until later in the year. We are very well known to most venues so the always pencil us in provisionally, which more or less guarantees us a slot for the day and time we require. But even though we are on the ball and book as early as we can, some parts of the itinerary are tentative, and as soon as we have booked everything, I will let the group know. We do not anticipate any problems, though.

1  The company requires non-refundable deposits to be paid as per tour in a timely manner. By paying a deposit you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of the Company.

2  Our tours are all based on double occupancy. There will be an additional supplement for single travelers which will depend on tour taken. 

3  Payment for deposit will hold your place, final balance  payment will be 60 days before the start of your choice of  tour. If paying by credit card you might incur bank charges.

4  Installment plans are available for anyone who would like to avail of them.

5  Travel insurance is something that the company strongly suggests all clients purchase to protect their travel investment.  Please find a package that covers you if you have to cancel close to the tour time because we do not refund if you have to cancel for any reason.You can find links for Insurance companies on our website www.SecretIrelandToursLLC.com

6  Due to limited capacity on coaches, there may be a limit of one suitcase per passenger. 

7  Participants are responsible for all their property, luggage, backpacks, phone's, laptops etc. 

8  The company tour guide will give all participants phone no's of tour guides and driver at the start of the trip or in an email before the start of the trip, it is vital that you keep these in a safe place.

9  At the start of each day your tour guide will tell you what time you should be ready, or to be on the bus for the next day's journey, it is up to you to contact your guide if you missed announcements on times. 

10 We strongly suggest you to purchase travel insurance to cover your travel investment in the event that you have to cancel your trip closer to the travel date.

11  Some of our trips require walking over stony roads and pathways, it is advised to always bring strong waterproof walking shoes, and waterproof/windproof outer coats/jackets also.

12 We also advise all participants to let us know of food allergies they have. We also state that if there are walks on rough surfaces or up hills, if you don't think you can take part please let us know and you can stay on the bus with the driver.

13 Each participant is responsible for their baggage being brought from the Coach to their accommodation except in the case where the company have booked porterage. The group will be advised where porterage will take place.

14 Conditions, availability, or contractual obligations may warrant for dates, venues, lodging, talent/celebrity headliners/hosts/guests. Ambassadors, tour guides or transportation modes to be changed or cancelled. It is our intent and obligation, within the best of our ability, to substitute and /or accommodate equal or enhanced alternatives. We will not refund any deposits or payments towards the tour due to these conditions.

15 There is a certain fitness level required for this tour, if you feel that you cannot walk up hill or long walks, we will ask you to stay on the bus. 

16 Secret Ireland Tours operates on an 8 to 9 hour day policy. When we depart early, usually around 9 AM, we generally return to our accommodations between 6 PM and 7 PM. If we have evening excursions, we leave later in the day to comply with legal driving time regulations for our driver.

17 We do not hire additional drivers to extend the length of our tours. While some people may prefer tours lasting 10 to 12 hours, the majority do not.

18 We reserve the right to refuse service.

Stirling Castle:

Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s most iconic fortresses, stands proudly atop Castle Hill, a volcanic crag that has witnessed centuries of royal intrigue, fierce battles, and historic turning points. Dating back to at least the 12th century, the castle served as a favored residence of Scottish kings and queens, including Mary, Queen of Scots, who was crowned here in 1543. Its strategic position made it a prize in the Wars of Independence, changing hands multiple times between the Scots and the English. But alongside its storied history, Stirling Castle is also steeped in ghostly legend. Visitors and staff have reported sightings of the “Highland Ghost,” a mysterious figure in traditional Scottish attire who vanishes when approached, as well as unexplained footsteps echoing in empty corridors. Whispers of soldiers, strange shadows in the Great Hall, and sudden cold drafts add to the eerie atmosphere, making Stirling Castle as much a place of spectral fascination as it is of historical grandeur.

Stirling Jail:

The Old Stirling Jail in Scotland, built in the mid-19th century, was once considered a model prison for its time, yet its dark and oppressive history still lingers within its stone walls. Designed to reform as well as punish, it housed criminals in stark isolation, with strict discipline and hard labor defining daily life. Over the years, the jail became infamous for its harsh conditions and the suffering endured by its inmates, some of whom never left alive. Today, it is a museum by day and a hotspot for paranormal investigation by night. Visitors and ghost hunters alike report chilling encounters—phantom footsteps pacing the corridors, disembodied whispers in empty cells, sudden temperature drops, and the feeling of being watched by unseen eyes. Some claim to have seen shadowy figures darting between the cell doors or felt an invisible presence brush past them, leaving no doubt that the spirits of Stirling Jail’s troubled past still walk its halls.

Torwood Castle:

Torwood Castle, located in the heart of Stirlingshire, Scotland, is a crumbling yet evocative 16th-century fortress built by Sir Alexander Forrester of Garden around 1566. Once the proud seat of the powerful Forrester clan, it stood near the ancient Torwood Forest, a place tied to Robert the Bruce and William Wallace during Scotland’s Wars of Independence. The castle’s history is marked by clan feuds, political intrigue, and eventual abandonment in the 18th century, leaving it to fall into ruin. Alongside its rich heritage, Torwood Castle carries an air of mystery and ghostly lore. Locals tell of shadowy figures moving silently through the roofless halls, unexplained lights flickering in the darkness, and the faint echo of footsteps crunching on gravel where no one stands. Some believe the spirits of the Forrester family still linger, bound to their ancestral home, while others whisper of soldiers from long-forgotten battles wandering the surrounding woods, forever keeping watch over the castle’s haunted remains.

Bannockburn House: History and Ghostly Echoes:

Nestled in the woodlands near Stirling, Bannockburn House is a late-17th-century Category A-listed mansion, built around 1675 by Sir Hugh Paterson and likely constructed atop earlier foundations known as Drummond’s Hall The house has borne witness to significant moments in Scottish history—it served as a temporary headquarters for Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1746, who met Clementina Walkinshaw here, and alarming evidence of an assassination attempt—a musket ball hole behind wall paneling in his bedroom—was recently verified Scottish Paranormal.

Today, Bannockburn House is lauded as one of central Scotland’s most haunted locations. Reports abound of disembodied screams echoing through the upper floors, doors slamming on their own, and a young woman’s apparition drifting through the rooms. Staff and visitors have also described soldiers’ spectral marches across the grounds, unsettling knocks, and the sense of being watched from unseen corners 

One particularly haunting legend speaks of a female figure seen on the balcony, believed by some to be a pregnant servant who met a tragic fate—perhaps at the hands (or hearts) of someone in the household—and who still lingers, perpetually caught between worlds. Paranormal investigators frequently capture audio EVPs, battery drains, flickering lights, and shadowy presences, especially in the lower corridors and kitchen areas. Some have even speculated about a darker, elemental force, perhaps tied to the land’s storied past and haunted by residual “Stone Tape” energy

Blackness Castle:

Blackness Castle, often called “the ship that never sailed” due to its striking resemblance to a stone ship jutting into the Firth of Forth, has stood since the 15th century as a fortress, prison, and ammunition depot. Its thick, weathered walls have witnessed centuries of political intrigue, sieges, and grim incarceration, leaving behind an atmosphere heavy with history. Today, visitors and paranormal investigators alike report strange happenings within its shadowy chambers and along the windswept battlements—phantom footsteps echoing through empty corridors, sudden drops in temperature, and the unsettling sensation of being watched. Some claim to have seen spectral figures near the old prison cells, believed to be the lingering spirits of prisoners who never left, their restless energy forever bound to the “ship” anchored in stone.

St Andrews' amazing sites with Greg Steward:

Balgonie Castle:

Balgonie Castle, looming over the River Leven near Fife, carries an air of foreboding that seeps into its moss-covered stones. By day, it stands as a proud remnant of medieval Scotland, but when night falls, shadows seem to slither along its crumbling battlements. Visitors have reported the unnerving sensation of being watched, even when alone, and many speak of the “Green Lady,” a spectral figure said to drift silently through the great hall, her presence heralded by a sudden chill in the air.

Footsteps echo in the empty corridors, doors creak open without cause, and strange whispers seem to rise from the very walls. In Balgonie’s darkened chambers, the line between the living and the dead feels dangerously thin.

Scenic Drive

Dovers Inn:

Hidden among the breathtaking mountains and misty landscapes of Loch Lomond, The Drovers Inn is one of Scotland’s most legendary and atmospheric inns. Dating back over 300 years, this historic Highland haven has welcomed weary travelers, locals, and storytellers through its ancient doors for centuries. But beyond its warm fires and traditional charm lies a darker side—The Drovers Inn is famous for its ghostly tales and paranormal legends.

Visitors and staff have reported mysterious footsteps echoing through empty corridors, unexplained voices drifting through the old rooms, and strange encounters with spirits said to linger from the inn’s long and colorful past. Some guests speak of a ghostly woman wandering the halls, while others describe feeling the presence of unseen visitors from another time.

Surrounded by rugged mountains, lonely glens, and the haunting beauty of the Scottish Highlands, The Drovers Inn feels like a place where history and legend collide. Balloch Castle and country Park:

The park is quintessentially a 19th century private estate, developed as a park at the beginning of the 20th century. Its design and layout has remained largely unaltered since 1800, at the time the current castle was built. In the park you can explore the Fairy Glen, Castle Garden, Pleasure Grounds, Kitchen Garden, Secret Garden, Woodlands and Parklands. Public toilets are available at Balloch Castle from 09.00am to 2.30pm every day.

A 'Fairy Trail' has also been established in the park by Patrick Muir which utilises the stumps of trees which have had to be felled.

There are 6 permanent orienteering trails in the park that have been set up by Clydeside Orienteers. You can access the courses through this link Balloch Castle Country Park - Go Orienteering. 3 courses start at the noticeboard at the castle covering the north of the park and 3 start at the Moss o' Balloch near to the skate park, covering the southern end of the park. Glasgow:

Enjoy exploring the city of Glasgow at your own pace. Here are some suggestions for you to consider:

Today you have the full day to do as you please. If you want to sleep in and relax in the hotel for the day, you should do that, or if you want to explore Edinburgh, then you have the full day to do so.

This is always a sad day, saying goodbye to your new friends who become like family. We bring you back to the airport a couple of hours before your flight so you won't be rushing to get where you need to go to catch your plane.
