Andres was a great host - personable, knowledgeable, and a good communicator and translator. The owner of the coffee finca had asked us to show up a bit later than planned, so Andres took us to a breakfast spot in his neighborhood for palitos de queso and bunuelos. We then stopped at Parque de Inflexion, dedicated to the victims of the Medellin cartel. After that he drove us to the finca just outside Medellin (in Sabaneta I believe) and we toured the finca and even got to pick coffee cherries. The hosts then made coffee for us in several ways and let us buy some of their roasted beans before Andres drove us back to El Poblado in Medellin.

I cannot recommend this excursion enough! Juan picked us up at our hotel and drove us all the way from Rionegro to the ranch which took at least an hour, but what a beautiful drive it was! He was an excellent and knowledgeable guide giving us history on every town we drove through, answered all of our questions, was very friendly and professional and played great music on the drive to the ranch. Thank you Juan!! As for the ride- ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. This was definitely the highlight of our trip to Colombia. The ride was incredibly breathtaking in a natural and secluded area surrounded by the Andes Mountains. The horses were very well behaved and very well cared for. One of the reasons I chose this excursion was because the horses looked healthy in the photos (I'm a horse owner myself)- this isn't your typical pay to ride a skinny/brain dead horse in a slow line down a trail. These are loved animals that you get to share a gorgeous ride through the mountains with. I was honored to get to share the adventure with Medalla, she was a joy to ride! After our ride we ate a delicious home-cooked meal by Joanna that turned out to be our favorite meal during our trip and our first experience of authentic Colombian food. It was fresh and really hit the spot after our long ride- gracias Joanna! :) If you're looking for an incredible horseback ride, please take advantage of this opportunity! I cannot recommend it enough!

This trip was SO much fun! I guess I have a thing where I like to go horseback riding in all the different places I travel to (e.g. I got engaged while horse backing riding in Argentina) and this was by far my favorite horseback riding experience. Andres is so kind, friendly, and knowledgeable about the land, country, and horses. The drive to the property was stunning and he took off to off the beaten path places to try his favorite arepas for breakfast. When we got to the property, we were taken away with how beautiful it was. The mountains, rolling hills, and the abundance of lush flora was truly breathtaking. The ride was the perfect length. About 2 hours and we had plenty of time to take in the scenery on our ride. My sister and I felt very safe on our horses. When we were done we were given a delicious lunch that was freshly prepared while we were out riding. When we go back to Medellin we will definitely want to do an excursion with Andres again!

My husband and I had a great time doing the tour with Andres. He went through the history of the places he brought us to see. It was an experience that we won't forget! I would highly recommend Andres and all the tour guides that he has to offer, you won't regret it. Thank you Andres for the great time.

This was an amazing trip. Andres is so knowledgeable and connected to the community. We learned a lot, saw so many beautiful scenes, and felt like we got out of the tourist zone and into real Colombia. Would highly highly recommend!
