About this trip

Duration: 7 days.

Category: Nature.

Languages: English, Spanish, German and Portuguese.

During this unique seven-day trip, you will experience one of the most amazing natural events in Mexico: the migration of the monarch butterfly. These butterflies have made a very long journey to escape the harsh winters in the U.S. and Canada, to take refuge in the beautiful forests of Oyamel. This tour will give you the perfect opportunity to see these beautiful creatures within the stone reserve shod one of the most important monarch butterfly sanctuaries in the world, with a very interesting excursion to know about this fantastic and magical place It will be a unique opportunity to be surrounded by the most beautiful butterflies.

Something that makes this trip unique, is the visit to charming colonial cities of great beauty, like Valle de Bravo, a place full of handicrafts and picturesque places in the beautiful state of Mexico. If you would like to know more about conservation projects in the area, go to "Forest for monarchs".

Having rented a condominium for the month, I opted to schedule airport transport via ecotours and was not disappointed. Upon exiting the airport Angel was awaiting me with sign in hand and professionally introduced himself, took my suitcase and directed me to the car. We conversed on the drive to where I was staying and got to know a little about one another. Overall I was very impressed and felt secure knowing I was in good hands. Will continue to arrange transport each time I'm in Cancun.

RELIABLE, DEPENDABLE, ON TIME, FRIENDLY SAFE!!!We had never been to Cancun, we were on a flight from JFK NYC. The company gave clear instructions in an email a week before, once we received luggage fight past ALL of the people that would be trying to transport us and go outside past everyone where the mini-vans are parked and look for an EcoColor sign with our name. There it was. EcoColors was early/on time for BOTH of our trips. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE!!! The drivers were friendly, courteous and safe and they BOTH spoke english. WE Will use this service again.

This was our second private birdwatching trip set up with EcoColors in Cancun. Like the first trip, everything was completely professional, well organized, and better than hoped for. We returned to Reserva Toh near Puerto Morales wondering if we would see different birds due to visiting at a different time of year, and the answer was a resounding YES! We were guided by Jose Paz, a patient and knowledgeable naturalist and birder who helped us spot nearly 50 species, of which almost half were "firsts" for us, notwithstanding our previous visit to Reserva Toh when we also saw nearly 50 species. Our driver Alex was also professional, courteous, and a helpful bird spotter as well. We would be remiss if we didn't recount the last bit of the tour, as follows. As we were driving away from Reserva Toh, I announced that we had to return because our "Life List" stood at 498 species, and we needed to find two more to reach our goal for the trip. Immediately Alex and Jose said that they had a plan, and we stopped within minutes at a small village. Almost at once we were guided to see a Gartered Trogon practically posing for us on a wire, and a Collared Aracari eating a fruit in a tree -- both new spots for us! 500 achieved! Thank you Jose and Alex, and thank you Ecocolors!!
