About Elika

Elika incorporates her studies of various styles of yoga with the fluidity of the vinyasa system to create an environment that allows each student freedom in each pose, while still emphasizing the therapeutic benefits of alignment. Her classes blend the strength of a flowing dance along with insightful postures to restore and revitalize the entire body from the outer to the innermost levels. In 2005, Elika completed both her 200 hour certification at Peachtree Yoga Center and her Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training with Stephanie Keach at Asheville Yoga Center. To deepen her knowledge of prenatal yoga, Elika subsequently completed the Whole Birth® Yoga Teacher Training, which incorporates the practice of mindfulness and yoga to help bring greater well-being during the childbearing year. To share her love of the birthing process and her desire to support women, Elika became trained as a Birth Doula with Doulas of North America (DONA) in 2008. To further her knowledge of energy therapy, Elika has completed Level 1 trainings in Reiki and Pranic Healing. http://www.blissfulbodiesyoga.com/

About Malika

Malika began studying yoga and meditation in 2004 while working as a schoolteacher and completing her Masters in Education. She was among the first recipients of the Integral Health Fellowship, an intensive two-year yoga teacher certification program through the Niroga Institute. When Malika completed her training in 2008, she committed herself to sharing and promoting the supportive practices of yoga, mindfulness, and healthy eating with underserved populations; in this case, her public school students. She taught in both Title 1 public schools and private international schools for 10 years and continued to study yoga. In 2013, Malika became a Yoga Alliance RYT 200 through her studies and certification with her mentor, international yoga and dharma teacher, Katchie Ananda. She has also studied under other well-known teachers from various traditions, including Raja Yoga, Forest Yoga, Anusara Yoga, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa. These diverse influences mirror her life experience of growing up in different countries around the world. http://www.omwellnessrhythms.com/

About Bromley Jamaica

Bromley is built on the foundations of a Spanish stone fort dating from the 16th century and its high ceilings and deep verandahs, shaded by the delicate branches of Ponciana trees, that keep it cool in the hottest of weather. Bromley’s generous bedroom suites, large living areas, and extensive grounds make it an ideal destination for workshops and retreats. A stay at Bromley gives you an authentic taste of Jamaican country life. Take an early morning dip in the pool while the mist slowly clears in the valleys of the Diablo Mountains. Breakfast on fresh fruit, eggs, cassava pancakes, and steaming cups of Blue Mountain coffee. Nap in the hammock after a lunch of rice ‘n peas with jerk chicken, then watch the hummingbirds in the Orchid trees over afternoon English tea. Let yourself be pampered by the warm and friendly Bromley staff. Check out the wonderful comments from past attendees and see pics from previous retreats at their Facebook Page.
