Group/Shared Cost Fishing Trip

Join us for 4 days of boat (panga) fishing with experienced local captains, split between offshore and inshore action.

Fishing Itinerary

• 2 Offshore Days: Chase Yellowfin Tuna, Sailfish, Wahoo, and Mahi Mahi

• 2 Inshore Half-Days: Target Roosterfish, various Snapper species, Jacks, and Mackerel

• Techniques: Casting, jigging, and trolling with both artificial and live bait

• Equipment: Provided by the charters, but you're welcome to bring your own

Rest Day
One full non-fishing day falls in the middle of the trip. Spend it relaxing, exploring town, or trying a local activity like zip-lining, horseback riding, or hiking to the waterfalls.

Who This Trip Is For
Recommended for experienced anglers who can effectively cast a spinning rod and have working knowledge of boat fishing safety and etiquette. While there is some trolling, this is an active trip with a lot of casting and jigging.

What's Included

Bringing a Non-Fishing Guest
Spouses, partners, or non-fishing friends are welcome to join. Their cost covers lodging and breakfast/dinner daily.

• Select the double occupancy cabina option for the angler, and the corresponding non-fishing spouse/guest option at checkout.

International Flight:

You can book your international flights into San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) or Liberia (LIR). 

Getting to Montezuma:

Option 1: Book a short, puddle jumper flight to Cobano Airport. Please note that there are limited daily flights between Liberia and Cobano. You can book the puddle jumper flight through with Green Airways Costa Rica or Sansa Airlines. We will arrange a taxi from Cobano to the resort in Montezuma (10 minute drive). 

Option 2: If you prefer not to take a puddle jumper, you can also take a boat. You can book this through Zuma Tours. They will pick you up from the airport and you will drive to Jaco (1.5 hour drive) where you will board a boat and take the boat all the way to Montezuma (1 hour). The hotel will pick you up from the main beach and bring you to the resort (10 minutes). When booking with Zuma Tours, select SJO to Montezuma option.

Deposits are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Your full balance is due by June 15th and is nonrefundable at that point. 

Settle in at Ylang Ylang resort. Relax on a hammock, swim in the ocean, hang out by the pool or take a few casts from one of the surrounding ledges. We will meet for a group dinner at 6pm at the restaurant. 

Enjoy a full day on the water, targeting bucket list species like yellow fin tuna, sailfish, wahoo and mahi mahi. Breakfast and dinner provided at the resort before and after fishing.

Spend the morning targeting rooster fish, various snapper species, snook, sierra mackeral and amberjack on the boat. Use your afternoon to try out a local restaurant for lunch, take a hike to a waterfall or through the nature reserve or just relax at the resort. Breakfast and dinner provided at the resort.

Enjoy a day off from fishing or try fishing from shore if you just can't get enough. Otherwise, you have the day to rest, relax, explore town or go on an excursion.
