El Petronio Álvarez es considerado el festival de música y cultura afro más importante de Latinoamérica Las noches del Petronio Álvarez son una fiesta que celebra los sonidos de la música tradicional del Pacífico colombiano. Las modalidades que se presentan durante el Festival de Música Petronio Álvarez son: Conjunto Violín Caucano, Conjunto Chirimía, Conjunto de Marimba y Cantos Tradicionales y Agrupación Libre. La salsa, el bullarengue, y otros del Pacífico.
Se debe decir que “El Petronio” no es solo un festival de música, además, en esta espectacular fiesta de la colombianidad participan cuatro modalidades culturales: gastronomía, bebidas tradicionales, artesanías y moda y estética afro. Coloridos desfiles de moda, muestras y feria artesanal, festival de orquestas y más. Hay también, claro que sí, un espacio para las mujeres. En esta fiesta se derrocha moda femenina autóctona, se venden productos especiales para el cabello y se pueden observar diferentes y originales peinados adornados de trenzas y coloridos turbantes que hacen de la asistencia a este espacio un espectáculo visual lleno de originalidad.
Miles de personas asisten a la ciudadela Petronio durante los cinco días que dura el festival para disfrutar de la gastronomía, bebidas, artesanías, cultura y baile de las personas del Pacífico que llegan con su talento a deleitar a los visitantes. Así, el “Petronio Álvarez” es una muestra única de nuestra cultura, en la que se vislumbra otra cara, una muy hermosa y ancestral de la diversa Colombia. ¡Esta es una fiesta que no te puedes perder!

Como cada año el evento contará con decenas de conversatorios académicos de ingreso libre y gratuito sobre temas tan disimiles como: Tradiciones Culturales; Creación Musical y Patrimonio; Migración y Legado Afro; Cocina y Migración; Naturalmente Artesanal; Técnicas de Pesca Sostenible; Territorio Afro; etc. Todo esto aunado con talleres, conciertos y otras presentaciones artísticas – culturales durante todo el día.

The Petronio Álvarez is considered the most significant Afro music and culture festival in Latin America. The Petronio Álvarez nights are a party that celebrates the sounds of traditional music from the Colombian Pacific. Every year, the event will feature dozens of free and open entry academic talks on topics as dissimilar as Cultural Traditions; Musical Creation and Heritage; Migration and Afro Legacy; Kitchen and Migration; Naturally Artisan; Sustainable Fishing Techniques; Afro Territory. All this is coupled with workshops, concerts, and other artistic-cultural presentations throughout the day.

Los picos azules de los Farallones de Cali te recibirán desde que llegas a la ciudad. Recibimiento en el aeropuerto y traslado al hotel. Como desconocemos tu hora de llegada, este día no se programan actividades puntuales. Sin embargo, te reiteramos que en varios puntos de la ciudad se realizan actividades culturales, muchas de ellas gratuitas. Nosotros te ofrecemos de cortesía el traslado a uno de los templos de la salsa, en esta ciudad, considerada la Capital Mundial de la Salsa.

The blue peaks of the Farallones de Cali will greet you from the moment you arrive in the city. Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. As we do not know your arrival time this day, no specific activities are scheduled. However, we reiterate that cultural activities are held in various parts of the city, many of them free. We offer you a courtesy transfer to one of the salsa temples in this city, considered the World Capital of Salsa.
