About this trip

For Laila, yoga is a wonderful tool to reconnect to the self. Her retreats are an invitation to find deeper embodiment, grounding and presence. During the week there will be a morning and evening session that will explore the balance between movement and stillness, with some active classes and deep relaxation. Laila’s approach to Hata yoga is influenced by somatic movement, breathing and mindfulness. There will be a focus on releasing tensions from the body, mind and breath to find nourishment and healing. The retreat is suitable for all levels of experience.

La Gomera is a magical place with great energy. It is a well-hidden little paradise on in the Canary island with unspoiled nature and a wide variety of landscapes. The island has a lot to offer between the sea, mountains, rainforest, banana plantations, terraces, secret beaches, caves and charming fishing villages along the coast. The atmosphere on the island is laid back and welcoming, which makes it really easy to enjoy life with simplicity. Being present and taking the time to deepen your yoga practice will make your visit on the island a truly rich and fulfilling experience.

The venue of the retreat is located right by the sea in a secluded bay, ten minutes walk from the quiet fishing village of Vueletas.

We will stay at La Finca Argayall. It is the perfect place to find your sanctuary and let yourself be inspired by nature to restore your inner balance.

The venue has its own organic farm that provides many of the ingredients for the delicious, organic, vegetarian meals. La Finca is right by the sea, surrounded by tropical gardens, has its own natural spring, two swimming pools and offers direct access to the beach.

During the day you can relax by the pool, laze or nap in one of the many wonderful places in the gardens or go for swim in the warm sea.

There will be tree vegetarian buffet-style meals a day. Milk products, eggs and wheat are included, however special diets can be accommodated on request. During the day, hot beverages and fresh fruits are available. Other drinks are available on purchase in the café and bar as well.

There is a wide range of accommodation within the gardens, surrounded by flowers, the sounds of the birds and with nature all around. The garden rooms and as the sea view room are cosy and comfortable and have twin shared beds .There are some single room with shared bathroom. At night you’ll love falling asleep listening to the waves crashing on the beach.

Laila will offer two yoga classes each day. The morning class will start with a gentle waking up through somatic movements, chi gong and calligraphy yoga. The evening class will focus on Hata and restorative yoga and include a long Yoga Nidra session. There will be one yoga-free day (on Tuesday) to have extra time to explore the beauty of the island.

La Finca offers a unique house program of various meditations in the morning and afternoon and you will be welcome to join any of these during your stay.
