Everyone needs to get away and rejuvenate once in a while to rediscover (or even discover) themselves. Our Valencia 'get-away' is all about doing just that!
Join myself and my Pilates Colleague, Hilary Crosby, for this Pilates Holiday Retreat from 19th -24th Sept 2020 offering 5 nights at Villa La Canada. You will be able to enjoy twice-daily Pilates, delicious healthy, wholesome vegetarian food, and 'time out' in what has been described as ’An oasis of calm in the leafy suburbs of Valencia'.
Conveniently situated just 5 miles from the centre of Valencia, 10 minutes from the airport, 30 minutes from the beach and La Canada metro station is only a 10 minute walk from the Villa. With its surrounding selection of shops, bars and restaurants it is perfect for those wishing to explore further afield.
Valencia is a beautiful historic Spanish city. From the cultural old city to the modern centre of Arts and Sciences. The River Turia Park runs for 8 kms through the city and is perfect for a walk, run or cycle ride or just sit and watch the world go by.
The spacious Villa La Canada has 6 twin bedrooms with 2 offering en-suite facilities. A sanctuary away from the bustle of regular life offering the perfect place to practise Pilates under the outdoor, shaded platform, surrounded by the beautiful scents from the garden, and a great way to start the day.
Delicious, healthy, nutritious and wholesome vegetarian food will be prepared by the in-house chef, with an evening set aside to dine out in Valencia City at our favourite Tapas bars (it’s a secret!!)
Villa La Canada also has a massage & therapy room, swimming pool & meditation/mindfulness area for those wishing to enjoy some personal reflection time. This 5 night break is excellent value for money with Esmee & Hilary, two highly experienced Pilates teachers and retreat leaders, who are delighted to be running their fifth retreat together.
Esmee and Hilary are two highly experienced Pilates Instructors and long-time friends who have ran many successful Pilates Retreats together for several years. The uniqueness of their friendship and professional expertise will quickly relax and put you at ease, so you get the most out of your holiday with us, and of course -heaps of fun!
Esmee’s interest in health and fitness has spanned nearly 20 years and led her to qualify as an Exercise to Music Instructor in 2003, where she progressed to running successful weight management classes in North and West Wiltshire.
Having been introduced to the Pilates technique in 2000 she soon began to experience significant changes to her own approach to exercise and movement and realised the numerous benefits Pilates brings. Having established herself within the Pilates method, Esmee qualified as a Pilates Mat Work Instructor from The London Pilates Institute in 2003, and obtained her Level 3 Pilates Mat Work qualification in 2006.
Esmee’s particular passion is in supporting others to take a holistic approach towards improving and maintaining their health and well-being, helping others to set and achieve realistic goals leading to a healthier lifestyle. Esmee is also a qualified and highly experienced Hospital Social Worker, a job she enjoys part-time. In addition to also being an independent Life & Emotional Intelligence Coach, supporting businesses to excel in their leadership, teamwork and management skills. Esmee is passionate about developing ideas and opportunities to bring well-being to the work place and supporting others to achieve their goals.
Hilary became interested in Pilates in 2002 after attending a training session presented by two Physiotherapy colleagues who were finding the technique very beneficial within their practice. Inspired, Hilary began attending Pilates classes herself.
Having worked since 2000 as a Physiotherapy Assistant, Hilary began incorporating more of her Pilates knowledge and its key principles into her work to assist patients with their rehabilitation. Here she saw first-hand that it was aiding recovery and strength.
Hilary decided to take her learning further and began training to become a Pilates Instructor with Future Fit Training in 2010, principally for self-progression and to increase her understanding of the application of Pilates in a remedial environment, as well as for her own health and fitness. Hilary continues to apply that knowledge daily, both within her employment specialising in knee and shoulder rehabilitation within local community hospitals and local community classes which she runs.
