Mystica Lodge & Retreat has been opening its doors offering comfort, yoga, healing, taste, art, sports, and adventure retreats in the heart of Costa Rica since 1993. This magical Oasis rises on a hill in the lush valley overlooking the vast Arenal Lake and impressive, active Volcano. The magnificent view is breathtaking for the eyes and the soul.
During our retreat, we will have full exclusivity of Mystica lodge and retreat, allowing the retreat to be relaxing, refreshing, and rejuvenating with only our group.

What to Expect
Yoga + Connecting + Adventure + Relaxing = Pure Escape
The morning and evening Yoga classes will be intentional and insightful, whether you're just looking to soak in movement or learn something new about your personal practice.
There will be time to connect as well as disconnect, depending on what you need for YOUR escape.
Our daily adventures will give you an opportunity to see a piece of Costa Rica.
Daily practices of mindfulness, meditation and journaling will be easily incorporated beyond the retreat environment.

-Credit Cards: Accept credit cards for an additional 1% + 2.9% service fee (3.9% for AMEX).

GUEST CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY:
Due to our retreat reserving the entire property at Mystica, no refunds will be available once payment has been rendered. You may however transfer your reservation to another guest.

Again, it is your responsibility before registering for retreat to commit 100% before making a reservation. Naturally, no one books with the intention of cancelling, but unexpected things do happen, so it is suggested you purchase travel insurance as a second option once you have made your reservation.
TRAVEL INSURANCE:
The best way to protect yourself from any unforeseen circumstance is to purchase cancellation/interruption insurance. Travel Insurance can protect you in case:
• You cancel your participation in the yoga retreat
• The retreat is cancelled due to weather, natural disaster, or not enough participants to run the trip
• Lost baggage or personal items
• Medical expenses and the cost of repatriation should you become ill or injured

RETREAT CANCELLATION POLICY
While we have never cancelled a retreat to date, if Finding your Escape Retreat must cancel a booked retreat date for any reason, you may transfer your full retreat payment to another retreat, or you may request a refund of your payment to us, constituting a full settlement.
What to Pack
Clothing
Keep it casual. Leave that office-wear behind and slip into your more comfortable tops, shorts, and sandals.
• For shoes, tennis shoes and flip-flops are worn most of the time but also have some dressier sandals if you were planning on going out.
• Bring some layers like pants, long sleeve shirts, and/or lightweight jackets. Temperatures can be cooler in the morning and evening.
• Light Poncho/Jacket if rain occurs during an excursions.
• Water shoes aren't necessary, but we will be visiting hot springs, waterfalls and possibly the ocean during our free time.
• Hats and sunglasses are always a WIN on any vacation.
• Beach towel for excursions .
Weather in February: The temperature typically ranges from 73°F to 88°F and is rarely below 69°F or above 93°F. Rain fall is minimal in February (Last year they had one day with rain in Feb.).
Sunscreen and Repellent
• Sunscreen is 3-4 times more expensive in Costa Rica so be sure to bring as much as you’ll need. Go with at least SPF 30 because the sun is very strong since Costa Rica is so close to the equator.
• Repellent may be useful during hikes and dusk or shortly thereafter when going out to dinner. Many restaurants are open air, which is wonderful, but does expose your legs to the pesky bugs. Here are some good options for travel size sprays or wipes, which fit right in your carry-on. If you’re looking for more natural options, check out Repel Lemon-Eucalyptus spray and doTERRA Terrashield Repellent, which is a blend of essential oils.
If you want to wait until you arrive, you can also readily find the aerosol-type sprays with DEET in Costa Rica. Just know that most contain only 15% DEET and run about $8-10 per can.

Flights + Travel Information
Flights can be scheduled with which ever airline you prefer. Some may want to travel to another city before our trip, so we offer our information for you to work around, or feel free to use the extra transportation information to plan accordingly.
Jessie and I will post our flight details and feel free to hop onto our flight.
• Book your flight to Liberia International Airport (LIB).
• Plan to arrive at Liberia International Airport before 1:30 PM on Saturday, February 2nd.
• Go through immigration + customs and then retrieve your luggage.
• A driver from Mystica will be waiting for us by 2:00 PM to take us to the retreat center, which is about an hour and a half from airport.
• Pack a snack.
• Plan to fly out of Liberia International Airport after 1:00 PM on departure Thursday, February 7th . •We will leave Mystica to head to airport by 10:30 AM to arrive by 12:00 PM.

Travel Directions to Mystica From Liberia
It is best when travelling to Mystica to fly into the Liberia Airport (LIR) if possible. Liberia is an hour and a half from Mystica Lodge. We always recommend to rent a car while in Costa Rica. We suggest contacting Alamo Rental Car in order to get an idea of their prices and conditions: www.alamocostarica.com. It is best to rent a 4x4 if you will be exploring a lot of the country. Nearly all the roads are asphalted, but for some destinations (such as the beach) you will have to face dirt and gravel roads.
If you are driving from Liberia to Mystica:
Travel along the Pan-American Highway in the direction of Canas. From Canas, turn left and travel toward Tilaran. We are 13 kilometres from the center of Tilaran in the direction of Nuevo Arenal. We can organize private transportation to Mystica from the Liberia Airport at $80 USD each way.
From San Jose
Depending where you’re coming from in San Jose, you can either take the Pan-American Highway in the direction of Puntarenas/Canas, or take the new highway into Puerto Caldera/Puntarenas which connects to the Pan-American highway into Canas. From Canas, turn right toward Tilaran. Mystica is 13 kilometres from the center of Tilaran in the direction of Nuevo Arenal.
Public Bus Mystica
To mystica by bus it is 4 hours from San Jose. The bus to Tilaran departs San Jose central terminal at: 7:30am, 9:30am (except Sundays); 12:45pm, 15:45pm; 18:30pm. The bus leaves for San Jose from Tilaran at: 5:00am (except Sundays); 7:00am; 9:30am; 12:00pm; 17:00pm. The phone number for the Bus Service in San Jose: (506) 2258.5792. The phone number for the Bus Service in Tilaran: (506) 2695.5611. From Tilaran you can take a 20 minute taxi ride to Mystica.

We have brand new mattresses to assure you a good night sleep, as well as Egyptian cotton sheets for maximum comfort

Corazon is a beautiful, private jungle cabin tucked away in the forest overlooking the river. This spacious and fully screened cabin hosts a king bed , a covered terrace, and a private bathroom with a special semi-outdoor waterfall shower.
Two of CORAZON’s walls are completely made of glass, giving you an amazing view of the river, playful monkeys, and local birds such as tucans, parrots, and many more. The unique sensation in this cabin is one of both privacy and openness.

This home is ideal for families, couples and best friends. A beautiful open-concept kitchen combines with a spacious living room with a cozy fireplace. Two large terraces encircle the home, complete with hammocks for relaxation as well as a hot tub and outdoor shower.
