Get ready for an exhilarating journey through Iceland's iconic Golden Circle, featuring an unforgettable snowmobile adventure on the Langjökull glacier.
Our adventure kicks off at Þingvellir, home to the world's oldest parliament since 930 AD, nestled within the Þingvellir National Park. Here, we'll amble through the breathtaking Almannagjá gorge, which marks the meeting point of the North American Plate's eastern boundary and witness the awe-inspiring Öxarárfoss waterfall.
Our route then leads us past the picturesque Lake Laugarvatn en route to Haukadalur valley. This geothermal wonderland boasts renowned hot springs like Geysir and Strokkur, where you're guaranteed a front-row seat to their impressive displays. Keep your eyes peeled for Strokkur's eruptions, erupting every 6-10 minutes, shooting an astonishing 20 meters into the air.
Just a stone's throw from Geysir, the majestic Gullfoss waterfall awaits. Known as Iceland's most famous waterfall, it's a sight that never fails to captivate.
The adventure culminates at Langjökull, Iceland's second-largest glacier, where you'll gear up in a snug winter overall and a safety helmet. Our certified snowmobile guide will walk you through all the essential safety instructions before we rev up for an exhilarating hour-long ride on the glacier.
The convoy of snowmobiles sets off in a single file, dashing across the glacier. Langjökull runs roughly parallel to Iceland's active volcanic zone, creating a unique and dynamic landscape. Beneath the glacier lie two or more volcanic systems, adding to the area's geological intrigue. Keep an eye out for the striking peaks of Mt. Skriðufell and Jarlhettur, fondly known as "The Earl’s Hat.
