The remote Osa Peninsula is home to the best fishing in the world! Here you won't find crowds or marinas, just nature at its purest. This special trip allows you to catch your dream fish and be surrounded by the most pristine tropical rainforest at the same time!
From the start, this itinerary is packed with adventure with a flight on a small plane that gives you a birds-eye view of the spectacular whale's tale coastline. From there you'll be picked up by a 4x4 that drives through rivers and crazy dirt roads to get to the boat that takes you to the jungle lodge.
Accommodation at the lodge is steps from the ocean! Monkeys swing from the trees above the cabins and tapirs graze the mangos that fall in front of your porch!
You'll be fishing with the top fishing guides in the region with decades of experience in a combination of inshore and offshore trips. Since everything is included, all you have to worry about is having a good time. When you get back to shore, the lodge staff will cook up your catch.
All food is provided at the lodge and the chefs can accommodate any dietary restrictions. The chefs will expertly prepare what you bring home from your fishing trips without even having to ask.
This is a group of 4 participants. Two seaside cabins will be provided to share 2 people per cabin with 2 separate beds. Each cabin is equipped with fans, huge solar hot showers, and ocean-view terraces with hammocks.
If you would like to bring a non-fishing spouse or friend, please contact us for customization.
Drake Bay and the Osa Peninsula is one of the most unique fishing destinations in the world. We are located near several river mouths and the famous Caño Island is just 12 miles from our home port. Over 40 International Game Fish Association (IGFA) records have been set within 80 nautical miles of Drake Bay. The island has a massive reef system that provides great bottom fishing and trolling opportunities. Our offshore fishing is usually 15-25 miles from shore. Thankfully the waters around Drake Bay are usually calm with a light chop which provides a pleasant ride. Because of the variety of waters, we are able to customize each trip based on the type of fishing and species desired. We cast top water poppers, jig the bottom for big Cubera Snappers and Grouper and fish with live bait for Roosterfish. Offshore we troll for big pelagic fish including Blue, Black and Striped Marlin, Pacific Sailfish, Mahi-Mahi, Yellow Fin, Wahoo and Big Eye Tuna.
Since we are on the water virtually every day we know what’s biting and where. Fishing also depends on the season, the moon phase and the tide schedule. Captain Willy factors all of this into consideration when deciding where to go and what to target.
